Model Reviewed: KAC-7202

Strength:

Looks, cooling fan, control options, all connections being on one side of the amp and the sound controls being located on top.

Weakness:

Having to remove a whole cover plate with hex screws to make adjustments on the amp.

I was rather leery when I was told it cranked out 460 watts x 1 @ 4 ohms. The sales man assured me that this amp made a JL Audio W7 thump hard. So...I bought it. Then I realized the sub I had wouldn't work with this amp as I had a dual 4 ohm voice coil sub. So...I bought a Phoenix Gold Xenon 10d2 (dual 2 ohm voice coils) and built a custom box for the sub and dropped the amp in a raised floor set-up. When I was done, all I could do was sit back and drool over the looks of the amp in my trunk. The brushed aluminum covers truly set it off and the built in cooling fan kept things running cool. After tweaking all the settings, I broke the sub in on about 8 hours of continuous driving and then I let it rip. The power that was coming from the amp to the sub was unbelievable. I have the input sensitivity set at about 1.0 Mv and the LPF is at about 150 Hz. I don't have the sub settings on my head unit all the way up and with the volume just on 10, this thing will make your ears ring!!!
