    Strength:

    *Under-rated. *Small footprint

    Weakness:

*Runs rather hot when driving subs.

My first amplifier. This amp is under rated (as are all MTX amps). This amp did a great job on a number of different set-ups. *Two JBL 10's in stereo mode = **** *One JBL 10 Bridged = **** *Two Kenwood 12" "tornado" subs = ***** *Two Rockford Fosgate Punch XLC 12"=**** *Nowdays it runs two Rockford Fosgate FRC2369's in a 1992 Cutlass Ciera.

    Under rated.

    Weakness:

None yet hopefully knock on wood.

I love it and like everyone else said it is under rated because it pushes my 2 10" infinity subs with a power rating of 250 rms and 1000 watt peak power and a pioneer 460 watt wouldnt push them.

    Way way way underrated.

I tell you what: I bought this amp as a newbie. I paid 175 for it, which was a little more than what I could have gotten it for if I would have looked in the right place... but it ran my 2 Clarion 10''s to hell. They sounded great. Right now I have 4 12''s, and I''m getting really into caraudio, and that amp is still great. It runs my 2 Fosgate 12''s awesome.

    Strength:

I have a 90' jeep cherokee and wish I could put it into something like a honda civic because a sub in a jeep is like a sub inside a box, inside a bigger box and you can barely hear it outside the car but once you sit inside it will make you blink without effort.

    Weakness:

It's hard at first to tweak because there are no marks for where your frequency and inputs are...

Powering a Sony XS-1230 (12 in./max 450 watts). The sub is in a 2 cubic foot sealed box.

wouldn't bother with any other sub under $200...

Loud for it's class, Small very compact, Doesn't get very hot.

    Weakness:

It's junk after a few months and blows up all your speakers, This is my second time returning this Amp, First time it melted fuses, now it blew up my POLK DX. I got a new MTX 6000 10" and it blew that before I left the parking lot. I concidering going with Liner Power amp, they r stronger and last way the hell longer, 6 year Warent.

It's good if you only want an amp for 3 months.

    Strength:

WAY more power than it is rated, size, tweakability
This amp is a power amp disguised in a small amp's body. Low distortion and great sensitivity (118db!!)

    Weakness:

the cutoff knob is not marked with frequency increments. Neither is any other knob. THis makes it hard to tweak except by listening. A shame, because this is otherwise a great amp, especially for the money.

This is the best overall two channel amp you will find under $200. I would recommend this amp to anyone. This thing is way more powerful than it claims to be. MTX really lowers their numbers for everything.
I have it bridged into 4 ohms for my subs. It really cranks out about 250 clean watts! not bad for $199. Get it at curcuit city, they gave me a $20 gift card with it. The birth certificate provided claims that it has a sensitivity of 118 db!! wow. It is very tweakable with a 75-200 hz cutoff and a 0-18 db bass boost at 40hz. It also has separate gain controls for each channel (nice) which is great. I had this hooked up to my infinity reference 6x9's and they sounded awesome, no distortion. I am running it with a 4 volt preout (it can accept up to 8- nice touch).

Considering the small size and the low power it uses, this is a very efficient amp. It drives my two fosgate twelves so loud that every panel in my car rattles and vibrates.

Getting it professionally installed gets you the three year warranty, but installing it yourself only gets you the one year warranty from MTX.

This amp is probably better suited for running 6x9's or 6.5" speakers, which is what i would recommend it for (although it will drive a bridged 4 ohm load with authority). I am going to purchase the thunder 250 d for my subs, i can't wait to hear my system.
