Strength:

love the black casing. controls are perfectly placed for easy configurations. this amp has enough juice to rock any sub.

Weakness:

the feet of the amp are so flimpsy they broke off when i installed them on the back seat. i had to make a trip to home depot and get spares. and also now its starting to lose contact with the RCA connections, i can't figure out what the problem is. any one who knows what it is jus leave a reply

this amp is definitly under-estimated. i have used it about a year. at first, i had 2 6X9s' and a 10" kicker impulse hooked up, but i was informed by the guy i bought it from, to not bridge the channels cus he burned the ground out. so i installed R/F component speakers and ran them with the 6X9s. they sound very very nice ( not disappointed at all even if it was a used amplifier)

Strength:

4 Channel design is easy to install. Nice and big terminals allow hook-up of 4 gauge power cabels. The amp has built-in automotive fuses, so they are cheap and easy to change out. The built in crossovers are very versatile and eliminates the need for an out-board crossover. The stability of the amp is great with low-impedance loads. And there is a LOT of power. The 600+ watts claim on the package is a bit optimistic, but it is reasonable to expect somewhere between 450 to 500 watts of clean power from the amp. I paid $410 for mine.

Weakness:

Weakness? the plastic mounting tabs look fragile, the amp's conservative style might be a turn-off for some people. Though I like the "Muscle in a Tux" look. There is not much more negatives to talk about... it's a great amp. Highly recommended.

Some designers left Rockford Fosgate to join MTX, and the results are these awsome amps from MTX. The 4300X is a four channel "37.5 x 4" amplifier with built in cross over and bass boost. I used it as the only amp in my competition system. Two of the channels are asked to drive a pair of Focal 6.5" component speakers, and the other two are bridged into a 3ohm mono load (paralleled voice coils from a JL 10W6 sub). The amp has a lot of clean power and even though the 3ohm mono load is lower than the specified 4ohm mono limit, the amp hasn't shut down on me yet.

FISRT THE POWER. THIS LIL BLACK SLAB OF IRON MIGHT LOOK NON AGRESSIVE BUT THATS NOT WHAT 2 12IN" PIONEER 303C SUBS/2 GEM SOUND 15 IN MIDS/ 2 B52 1515SR CLUB APLICATION TRAPIZIODS (HARD TO BELIVE HUH??)SAID... WELL BELIVE IT, I PUSHED THEM ALL(REAL NICELY) TESTING SPL AND LINIER SOUND CAPABILITIES. I WAS CONVINCED THAT THE MOST JUICE I COULD SQUEEEZE OUT WAS ONLY 150(FAKE)ADVERTISED WATTS ...BUT I WAS WRONG....AT FIRST I STARTED TO BLOW OUT SUBS BUTTHEN I GOT SKEPTICAL AND STARED TO USE MY DJ /CLUB EQUIP ...IT DIDNT BURN IT OUT BUT IT STILL PUSHED 2 SR 1515 B52"S............(STILL SKEPTICAL) I TESTED IT OUT WITH A CURRENT METER ....FIRST I CONNECTED IT TO THE AVERAGE VOLTAGE FROM ONE BRIDGED CHANNEL AND I GOT A WHOPPING 46VOLTS .....I MULTIPLIED THAT BY 3.3 AMPERES AND CAZAM.......AN AVERAGE OF 147-150 RAW WATTS.THESE MTX JACK ASSES WERENT PLAYING AROUND....ALSO I LIKED THE EQ/CROSS OVER FLEXABILITY......BUT OVER ALL A RAW AMP ........IVE SEEN ALL THE FAKE WATTS ON BOXES AND ADVERTISMENTS ...DONT FALL FOR IT ..........THIS AMP IS A 300WATT AMP 150X2 AT 4OHMS NOT 650 OR WHATEVER YOUVE SEEN (150X2 REAL WATTS )BUT ABOVE ALL I LOVE THE ELECTRICAL CONSTUCTION INSIDE (REAL STURDY AND STRIAT TO THE AMPLIFICATION POINT.

Weakness:

PROBLEY THE ONLY THING I DONT LIKE IS THAT YOU CAN ONLY DROP THE LOAD DOWN TO 4 OHMS AND ONLY GET A MAX OF ABOUT 150X2 (RMS){THE STRANGE THING IS IS THAT THE MORE JUICE YOU GIVE IT THE MORE THE AMPERE RISES AND ALSO THE VOLTS GIVING OUT MORE WATTS}(LIGHTING CAP RECOMMMENDED) BRIDGED (I COULDENT GET THE PEAK WATTAGE)ALSO IT NEEDS ALOT OF JUICE

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MID/HIGH PUSHIN AMP FOR COMPETITION GO FOR IT!!! FOR SUBS 85% GOOD (NEEDS ALIL MORE JUICE FOR STROKER CLASS SUBS) CLASS D AMP RECOMENDED.........BUT FOR EVERY DAY ASS KICKING POWER IT GETS A HELL YEA ON MY METER......................REALLY GOOD FOR 15IN MID/BASS SPEAKERS/REALYGOODFORCOMP SUBS!EX: SOLO BARICS / ARMEGGEDONS/ MULES....TIGHT POWER DILIVERY ( CAN GET REAL HOT AFTER A GOOD HOUR AND A HALF OF FULL POWER BLAST) DONT PAY MORE THAN 300 !!!ITS AWSOME BUT $500??????NA MAN DO YOUR HW AND THE FORCE WILL REVEAL THE SECRET OF EQUIPMENT AND PRICES (YOUR PAYING FOR QUALITY AND WORKSMANSHIP) BUY IT USED AND SKIP ALL THAT ....EBAY!

Strength:

This amp is currently in my toyota pickup and it never seems to quit. I have had 2, s12d solo-barics ran off of it while using the other two channels pushing kappa 6x9's, 3'in. Impulses and a pair of impulse dome tweeters...never has shut off on me. This amp will at least provide adequete power to every speaker you intend to hook up to it.

Weakness:

I don't like the fact that it is so plain, but hell i don't have to look at it anyway since its under my seat

I highly recommend this amp if you are looking for a well rounded system with only one amp. with its four channels, you can run subs, mids, and highs such as i did with a 2ohm load (which it can surely take). If you are looking for huge sub power though i wouldn't recommend this for anything more than for your mids and highs. Either way you go, this amp will ensure great quality.

Strength:

thing never seems to run out of juice, extrememly clean too

Weakness:

not really a weakness at all, but MTX amps put out way more power than they say they do. 37.5 w/ch is a joke (see below)

got this thing for $280...great deal. all I wanted was about 40 watts/ch for my main speakers. the test sheet that came for my amp says it puts out 68 wrms/ch @ .025 THD+N. silly, just silly. love the steep crossover slope too (18dB/octave). this is a great amp, no doubt about it

Strength:

Awesome amp, wish I purchased the 4300x. I drive the front speakers and a sub with this. Easy to install, love the 18Db crossovers built into amp.

Weakness:

Amp gets a little warm but not hot to the touch.
Other wise no weaknesses.

Paid $250 for the 4200X. Highly recommended.

Strength:

This is an unbeleivable amplifier. I used to run 4 Rockford Fosgate XLC's, this amp. pushed them to the max (i blew 3, luckily i had warranty on them). The sub's were 200 watts RMS each, and i pushed them all to the max. Other then it's awesome power it has great looks too.

Weakness:

The only weakness of this amp is if you lower the impendence down to 1 ohm., then it starts to overheat and you can only run it for about 45 minutes before it shuts down, but you can turn it back on within 5 minutes.

i paid $499 for it and i do believe that it's not enough for the quality that it has. Right now i am running 4 speakers and 4 tweeters through it. This amp is definetely underrated. If you lower the impedence you get tons of power out of that amp. I definetely recommend it. If you want to run either subs or mids or highs with an amp, this amp is for you.
