Strength:

great bang for the buck, good power for the money, very stable, acts like a much bigger amp.

Weakness:

its only drawback is the plugs that are used for all the wire connections. very annoying at times. i pulled the little metal pieces inside that the set screws tighten down against so that the set screws actually contact the wire instead. that solved most of the irritation for me.

i have used this amp for over 2 years now as a sub amp. i n that time, it has pushed: a kenwood excelon db+ 4-ohm 12", a kicker solobaric L7 12" dual 2-ohm voice coil 12", and a kicker comp vr dual 2-ohm voice coil 12". an excellent all around amp; plenty of power, very flexible, and almost bulletproof. I have never had a problem out of it.going to try it running full- range on a set of 6x9 three ways, now.

Ah... could have a remote bass control :D. Sorry everthing has a weakness.

One great little amp. Really packs a punch for and does a fine job with my JL Audio 10W6 running at 3ohms mono. Its rated at 4 ohm stable mono and amp doesnt heat up or clip.

Strength:

Tiene mucho huevos! Lots o' b*lls!

Weakness:

Plugs are awkward, but perectly usable.

This amp replaced a Fosgate 300S. The Fosgate was decent, but when I installed the CS150.2 into my truck, I left all the setting on my stereo the same. Once installed, it cranked even louder than the Fosgate. A LOT louder. I had to turn the bass boost and my subwoofer control level down to 0 after this amp started pounding. All in all, Orion as normal.

Strength:

price per watt, i like the crossover adjustment because you can pick a frequency accuratly, although i read in that other guys review it''s slope could be steeper. We''ll see when i use it for my kicker resonance seperates.

Weakness:

not sure.

Im happy with it. Probably an accurate rating. I have it hooked up in stereo to two Mb quart discus 10" in a box built to spec. it delivers nice tight bass in the back of my camaro firing off the glass. i really havnt been into car stereo for quite a while so i cant really compare it to any thing else. If you can get one for a fair price I think its worth it. it moves my rear veiw mirror and if im parked i can feel it in the back of my seat. Im ready to use as a front stage amp and get a little more power to the rear. Again its good starter for the price. and if you upgrade to a higher wattage system it should be ideal power for front stage or rear fill. Im ready for some bass you can feel outside the car.

Strength:

Inexpensive, good power, bridgeable, Made in USA. Great owners manual.

Weakness:

Blue, kinda cheap looking. X-overs aren't too great. Plug in type connections are difficult.

I bought it because it was cheap, even cheaper now! I bridged it to a 10" infinity sub and it really sounded great! 320 watts rms. The crossovers are not very good in the cobalts, but in my application it didn't matter.

If you need a good amp at a good price the cobalts are great, WAY better than some other brands, not what I expected from Orion though.

Similar Products Used:

Cobalt CS100.2, older Orions. It puts out much more power than the smaller cobalt, it doesn't hold a candle to my old Orions.

Strength:

Sounds simply great!

Weakness:

could use a better s/r ratio.

Okay, this thing in the manual says that it puts out about 90 watts by two, what is that? This thing is way beyond that point. Its way underrated. I would have expected to pay a lot more for an amp of this caliber. I took it apart and everything looks real neat, its made like an amp should be! The other guy didn't like how it looked and I was skeptical too, that was before I had actually seen a real life model. I love the blue anodized heatsink, looks real nice and not cheap. This probably the best amp I have ever used. I have heard Orions better amps and other companies so called top of the line, but this amp is nice in that it sounds as good as the best yet its real cheap. I like the weco connectors too, gives a real clean install. Im using this amp for my fronts and I simply could not have asked for a better deal in terms of SQ and loudness. It does not color the sound whatsoever and never distorts. Also, it runs cool as Ice at full power, granted I use a line driver but even when I didnt have one this amp performed great. I run it at about 3/4 power constantly. My speakers love the clean power.

JBL amps, Infinity and Clarion. These amps listed are sad excuses compared to the Orion. Orion wins on all grounds.
