Strength:

good design. very clear sound. excellent built in capicators to run 6x9's

Weakness:

for a subwoofer over 200watts rms the protection light will go red but won't kick out if bass is up

i got this little amp cuz i own the 4150 n wanted to attach both to make it look really big. I'm running a solorbaric 10" to it n it does pound. The amp does get hot but its simply because this amp wasn't made to run a 600watt rms subwoofer.

Strength:

Lots of adjustments and good price

I am rocking the Pheonix Gold 2180. Its humping 2 rockford fosgate hx2 10's. It seems to do just fine they are 1000 watts a piece. Little big but oh well. The 2 kenwood 10's story sounds a little like he didn't know what he was doing. No offense man.

Strength:

Compact, good bass booster, steady power flow.

Weakness:

I couldn't afford the 400 watt QX :(

I don't see how this amp wo uldn't run your *high quality* kenwoods. I'm running a single MTX 12" right now and it can't handle the power so I'm getting an orion 12" to replace it. I know people who run dual 12's off these amps and they POUND with good quality subs. Anyways I had mine installed because I know very little about the actual amp-installing process, but people think I run 2 10's all the time.

Strength:

Top of the line brad name at a generic price!!! Built in crossover, and bass booster!!! Lots of power concidering the price!!! Stronger than most, if not all amps that you can buy new, in it's price range!!! Nice looking!!! And finally, it has a high or low input--->so if you want to use a stock deck, there is no need for a high to low converter!!!

Weakness:

The biggest weaknesses that i have heard about these amps come from those who i assume are rookies, and don't know what they are doing, so, if you don't know what your doing, you might want to go to an authorized dealer for the install, or at least to ask questions before you but it. ------> [unlike the guy from canada, and the 10 inch kenwoods dude(why put down the amp when you failed to plan your install, and why kenwood subs -lol)]

I have been a Phoenix Gold fan for years, and when my wife wanted a decent system, i turned right back to them. As everyone should, I planned my setup, then i did research on the equipment that i planned on using. She wanted something cheap, and i wanted her to have nice quality sound. i decided to go with this amp, and a 12 inch kicker comp vr(2001 model). Uh, the sub doesn't seem to handel the power very well. I haven't had the amp cut off on me yet, and the amp doesn't get hot. Maybe, because like I said, I planned my install. This amp was made to run 180 watts at 4ohms mono, or 2ohms stereo, and is not made to handel any ohm load lower than that. I find it hard to believe that it won't push 2 kenwood 10's at 4ohm stereo, but hey, like he said, he doesn't know much about stereos. And finally, you can push 2 subs with thisamp, just make sure that they are either dual voice coil 4ohm subs, or single voice coil 8ohm subs, perferably with a rms rating between 100-200, and a low db->"sensitivity" rating.

Very good. Runs my 12" Sub Briliantly. Never had a problem with it's thermal shutdown. I can only imagine that you would have problems if you were mis treating it.

I got mine free from Ford.

Strength:

My subs are pounding, I'm liking it alot, and my friends are giving me five.

Weakness:

Even though I have it bridged at 2 ohms, the website says that it's not designed to handle it as such. I find it gets pretty hot after a while of playing...but it is summertime, right? I haven't tried hooking it up any other way because I don't really know what I'm doing. If it breaks before I get the connection changed, I'll write another review.

I got this amp, not knowing much about car stereo eqipment, and this guy I work with who seems to be a stereo installing geneous was quite impressed that I got such a good deal on this amp. The sale price was $299 cdn and the buddy gave it to me for $199 cdn. After buying it, I looked on the web and it seems almost as if that's what it was worth and he gave me that money off to make it seem like I was getting an awesome deal. I think the power it puts out is impressive for a $200 amp anyways. My 10" Kenwood subs pound like mad and it overpowers my mids like you wouldn't believe so I had to tweak it a bit.
