Strength:

Power for price.. Don't need any more bass unless you are in competion. Stays cool all day not matter how hard you push it

Weakness:

Pioneer AMPS arn't very cool. Could have a bit cleaner sound

I said I would never buy ANY amp that was rated in max power (1000 W). Jenson and crap like that rate in MAX not RMS. I said I would never buy a pioneer AMP. But the sales girl was hot and she said she would take it back if I didn't like it. She wouldn't let me buy a more expensive amp. So I decided to buy it, after all I wanted to go back to see her.. Unfortunatly I never went back. This thing pounds!! I'm an old school guy when it comes to car audio, so this was my first d-class amp I have bought. Let me tell you it would cost over $2000 to get anything that could match the power of this in the 90's. Would have to be a comp amp.. I had this amp running two eclipse 10's. Might not have won the db drags, but it would turn heads anywhere, even out curising with other cars with lots of bass. I had it running at 2ohms and it stayed cool as stone. If I had the subs I might have tried it at 1 ohms (the old school in me again). It would be scary if it could run at that high current.. For the downside, I had to buy a cap to run the thing. At mid to full my lights would dim. The cap also made the sound a lot tighter. I would highly recoment at 1 farrad cap with this thing. It is not the cleanest amp I have ever heard. Again I don't have allot of experince with d-class. I've heard from others that prefer old school amps or "A" class that "d" stands for dirty... It is far from bad, but a first or second generation Orion HCCA is cleaner of course. Basically if you want some seriouse bass, but don't need to hit 170 and don't want to spend a fortune, but this amp. Oh yeah if you want to build a show car and display your amp, don't buy this amp, Pioneer isn't all that cool and you will have to listen to everyone jokes, until you turn it on (it get real old real quick).

Strength:

Cheap, runs cool, Very inexpensive, Looks very classy ( I hate how all amps have a bling factor these days, this amp is very clean and small). Alot of power for a small package.

Weakness:

Every one will give you crap about owning one, they say it is crap but let me tell you on the bench it is the cleanest D-class amp if I have ever seen one. ALot nicer then a Alpine MRD-1000 and for a fraction of the price.

This amp rocks. I was very skepitcal because Pioneer has a history of building crappy amps. But luckily me and a buddy got to tear one apart and see if they went and fixed any of there old problems. and I am happy to say they did. This amp has ton of power it puts out more then what they spec. I have been running the amp at 2ohm load and the amp is not even breaking a sweat and just barely getting warm. I am using this amp to power 2=10" MTX 7000 (hehe old school)

Strength:

lots of power, great sound, no heat issues so far, very solid build

Weakness:

none

I was a little skeptical of this amp at first seeing as how Pioneer isn't really known for their amps. However, the specs were great and the price was right. I'm definitely glad I took the plunge because this amp sounds great! I have it hooked up to two Alpine E-type 12" subwoofers and it pumps them HARD with no distortion and no overheating. In fact, I lowered my sub out on my deck just because they were too loud. Again, I have experienced no heat problems at all in the two weeks I've been using this (and using it hard). Great amp at a great price!
