Strength:

All of these amps are AWESOME!!! I have used them for quite some time now, completely trouble free!!! they ROCK... I am currently using only the A300 on a 12" Eclipse sub and the A404 on all the Resolution (from stillwater designs) mids/highs in the car. The car sounds awesome!!! Someone in an earlier review mentioned that they can be LIQUID COOLED. this is completely possible. If you would like further information of how to do it, please feel free to contact me at drmilhouse@aol.com. I purchased all of these amps used but one would never know it. VERY DURABLE!!! the A404 is VERY VERSATILE!!! I would recommend PPI's Art Series amps to ANYONE!!!

Weakness:

there is nothing weak about them!!!

I got all three of these amps for well under $1000 bucks... I got a very very good deal!!! they ROCK!!! if you're looking into a reasonably priced power house for an amp, get ahold of a PPI Art (A) series amp! someone looking for a midgrade amp to power factory speakers should look elsewhere.

Strength:

This Amp is so powerful...Im running 4 kicker comp vr 12's at 300watts apiece (Rms) and The amp just keeps on pusing them harder and harder..with no distortion. One of the best Amps of its time

Weakness:

The amp is extremly Long (A1200 24" ) and weighs about 14 lbs total. So unless you have a big trunk..its hard to find a place to mount it.

New about 4 years ago this amp sold for over $1200 and I got mine for $520.. The book says it has a LIQUID COOLING OPTION ...but I cant figure out how to get it to work..it doesnt seem to have any hookups. ANyone who coms across this amp should buy it for no more than $800. It A GREAT AMP

Nothing comes close but the other PPI amps (Powerclass) Ect...AM series were also VERY good.

Model Reviewed: PPI Art Series A404

Strength:

Clean power, versatility, I used this amp on Kicker Comp subs, then on two solo baric twelves, and am currently using it to run all my highs, which is where this amp truly excels. If you are out for looks, also, this is definitely a unique buy.

Weakness:

Whats not to like, perhaps that there is no built in crossover, but then again this is a competition grade amp and most built in crossovers don't really give enough options.Do not buy this amp if you are not trying to find that perfect sound.

I paid only 200 dollars for this amplifier 2 years ago and would not sell it to anyone for less than 500, that's what I think of this amp. If I could find another one I would probaly buy it, even though I don't need it. This is one of the best series ever by one of the best companies, just ask a dealer, even if they never carried it they probaly know about them.

I have used all kinds of amps:Kicker,Rockford,MTX, they were all good amps, but I have not found anything that compares if you really want competition sound.

Strength:

Solid, Clean, Muscular power! Now discontinued, I think it's one of those sought after amplifiers.

Weakness:

None

Paid $1200 for all three amps. They all kick butt. If you can find one in good condition get it. I think the white finish is a lot better and more representative of the Art series. These amplifiers are clean. All it does is amplify and not add any coloration or any bit of noise to the signal. It's a great match for a digital source. i'm glad I got it.

Strength:

clean, effortless, powerful, unbelievable bass control

Weakness:

slightly cold sounding with a smallish sound stage

Great amp
For full range was a bit cold sounding and a little closed in
The bass and mid bass is the most controlled i've heard from a car amp
Treble was extended but not harsh
Very, very clean with effortless power.

highly recommended

Strength:

Clean and powerful.
Nice looking.

Weakness:

Had to send it back twice for repairs.
Must return to PPI for repairs.

I bought this amp mainly to drive my 2 JL Audio pro 10's. It does a wonderful job and the sound is clean and powerful, but I've had to send it back to the factory for repairs twice, once under warranty and the other cost me $100. They had to replace transisters once and replace the entire output stage the second time. I've had the amp for about 5 years and I sent it in for the 1st time after about 3 years of use. I don't know what PPI has done in the past five years or where they stand on quality now, but I can say that this is a good amp. I do however think that I should have gotten more time out of the amp before having to have any repairs done. I probably won't buy PPI next time.

Strength:

It's just so clean.

Weakness:

no built in xover if you're looking at it for a sub amp

I picked up my a300.2 at hifi buys as a demo and saved a buttload of money. I use this amp for my set of boston acoustic pro series 6.5's and they sound so clean. I was going to take it and put it on some subs and put my punch 100 on the bostons, but I just couldn't bring myself to it.

Strength:

Awesome power!
Clean and very versatile.

Weakness:

Can't find any flaws...thats the weakness!!

I run a pretty decent setup.....2 A404.02 for my Fronts and rears and they really make my MBQ come alive!! And I also run a single PPI Pro 12 woofer with one A1200.02...and let me tell ya, this woofer rocks if fed with enuf watts...otherwise it will just whimper away.
All I can say about PPI's amps are the following....

They really pull clean and powerful!!

I use two Art Series amplifiers, an A200 and an A600. Expect them to put out about 15% above the rated wattage. As expected, they put out very clean power and will satisfy the audiophile. They don't have any crossovers which limits their potential if you don't use an external x-over. You'll need to buy the newer PC class to get on board x-overs. One more thing, get the updated .2 seies Art amplifiers if you're planning on using them as serious sub amplifiers. Apparently PPI didn't anticipate this and a lot of people were losing channels. PPI charges a flat rate of (I believe) $50/channel to update to .2 integrity. The A600 is one of the smallest 600 watt amps out there. I'm very happy with mine, buy them used like I did and save some serious cash.

Actually I have not had my A600 installed yet. I was hoping to get some info on it before installing it in my vehicle. I have an 87 nissan maxima, and was wondering what size and kind of speakers would you suggest. I was considering two 15" DVC's of some kind. I have these three twelves and I was wondering if those could be use and if so what hook up method would you prefer. I have one dvc and two single voice coil.
