OMG...Great power for an old school. I’ve had it for 6+ years and bought it used but still running strong. Recently I’ve had a 10” JL Audio w6 v2 and my sub was blah... I almost thought it was my amp but then decided to get rid of the sub and bought a 10” MTX 9500 and man it brought out the BEAST in this amp. It pound so hard that my ear and head feels woozzy... stupid JL audio w6 was no bueno... anyways, I have this paired with a Fosgate 10 farad and a yellow top optima... BEAST I tell you...

If you ohm your sub to 2 ohm or 1 ohm..this will shut down.... keep it 4 ohm plus and this amp will Beast up.

This thing was a complete monster!! Killer power loud extreme bass. I put this in Acura and wow! Blew me away I had a pair of 12's on this and it bangin very loud. Very powerful.

Well i recently got a chance to use one of these (wasn't mine) and it was the best old RF amp I used it pushed subwoofers to their limits in bridged mode I didn't want to sit in the car!!! I wish the amp was mine :( but atleast i got to experience the crazy sound of it!! I'd definitly recommend this bad boy!! Push your subs very hard!

I have had this amp since new and WOW!!! Have had it in 5-6 vehicles. I have had numerous subs on it. currently have a fosgate 12in T1, and that sub likes that amp, hits vary hard

Real power! It will push just about any subwoofer you throw at it. It's not B.S. like alot of newer amps that claim to be way more powerful than rms rating. If you wire your system right...this will be the last amp you will ever need.

I've had this amp since 2000 and it's been running strong. It has survived 5 different vehicles and plenty of subs. Good clean "REAL" power. It's currently pushing 2 12" JL Audio W7 d6's running 3ohms per channel and it slams them hard. I've had it pushing: 1 13.5" JL Audio W7 d2/ 3 JL W6 12"/ 4 JL W4 12"/ 2 JL W3v2 12"/ 2 JL W6v2 12"/ 4 Kicker L7 10"/ 1 Kicker L7 12"...many differet subs throughout the years and still haven't blown one yet.

I bought this Amp back in 1999 and it's still pumping out the music. The Amp has went throught 4 cars(2 which was car accidents). Not more you can say when the Amp out last the vehicle LOL. I run 2-12" dual coil Boss Speakers in a Sealed box in a 2002 Ford Taurus and put out 122db's........You Can't beat it!!!!!

Power Power Power. This amp is versitile in wireing configurations and power output. I also like the abuse you can put this thing through. No matter what you through at it it comes scraming back.

I have yet to find one. About the only thing I don't like is the gain controlls for the L and R channels. They are kinda hard to get to with the little screws, but hey you only have to set it once wright.

The old school Punch 800a2 is one of the hardest working and most powerful amps out there. I use mine to push 2 Kick Comp VR 15's. If you don't know about these speakers they are dual voice coil and require a butt load of power to push them. My amp is few years old and works just as hard today as it did when i boutht it. I don't know what people are doing to make them get hot. I run mine as hard as I can for long periods of time and can still put my hand on the top of the amp. To me that is not to hot. Chances are if your amp is getting to hot you don't have the proper wireing. You might have it bridged wrong or you may have the wrong size power cord. I run straight 4 guage to mine and it has never failed. Anouther thing to think about is ventilation. If you dont ventilate you will lose the battle.

I use to run 2 kenwood 600 watt amps. That was one for each sub. They didn't come close though.

Puts out a lot of power. At the worst I have seen, it only get's a little warm. NOT HOT! Like so many people have complained about, if it gets hot you don't have it positioned in a spot with enough ventilation!, or your running it at OHMS that are too low! Very good for the money no matter what you pay! And for 800 watts, it really isn't that big!

I haven't had any problems with this amp ever. I got mine in 1999 and have been using it ever since. 4 years and it has not had one malfunction. It has never shut down or overheated. Anyone that whines that it shuts down at 1OHM or below 2OHMS, like people said above. "Hey retards! Read the manual Rockford says that they do not recommend running their amps below 2OHMS" Read before you hook it up, and then b!tch when it doesn't work cause you hooked it up wrong! JESUS! That is why amps fry and subs blow because of people who think they know it all and just hook it up and think it is going to magically work even though they hooked it up wrong!

I bought this amp in 1999. A friend worked at Best Buy and hooked me up with his discount. Typical shelf price for this amp is $450.00-$600.00 I paid 350.00 I would have easily paid full price for this. I had it running two 12" Kicker XPL's, and now I have it running two 12" Kicker COMP VR's 2003 model. I am running it at 800x1@4OHMS, both my sets of subs pounded very hard and clear. I don't know why some people think this amp doesn't work well. My guess is if it isn't sounding right, then you've got something wired wrong, or your subs or box was or is messed up! My amp get's warm but not hot. And for those who were complaining the amp runs hot at 2OHMS... Most amps run warm at 2 OHMS, it is pushing a lot of watts and power out, of course it is going to get warm! I would highly recommend this amp to anyone that is looking for something to drive their subs!
