Strength:

Powerful and clean sound.

Weakness:

The one thing you need to understand about this amp is that you need to have an electrical system in tip top shape because it is POWER HUNGRY. It eats alternators and spits out batteries. Within seconds of turning up the volume you will know if you have the proper electricals to feed this amp.

When this amplifier was first introduced almost 10 years ago, it was a straight beast. A heavyweight amp with power to match it. I've had this amp pushing my subs for years with no disappointments and I'm still using it today which should speak for it's quality and endurance. If you're a serious basshead or like getting every ounce out of your subs then you would be wise to locate one of these second hand and check it out for yourself.

Lots and lots of power at 2 ohms stereo. There is no need to go to 1 ohm if you dont need to.

I have been looking for an amplifier to hook up to my HE2s for awhile now. At first I was using a Kenwood KAC7251 and it knocked my woofers around and then I tried the 801S and it blew on me (I guess it was because it was one of the new Rockford Fosgate amps)and then I came across the Rockford Fosgate 1100a2 and man what a difference between the kenwood and the rockford amp. I have this thing running stereo on my woofers down to 2 ohms a channel and man does it make my woofer bang. I am too scared to out the 4 ohm mono to it because I think it is going to tear my woofers apart. It is putting out 550 watts RMS at 2 ohms to my woofers and the woofers are rated at 400 watts rms and 800 max. This dang thing just pound the living crap out of them and that all I have to say about that. Oh yeah, I love the remote bass option two. I am using the remote from the 801S.

Strength:

Can be set at 2ohm mono when the subs are in paralell....amp will shut it's self off before getting to hot

Weakness:

gets really hot and doesn't last long, amp will cut out before over heating, careful you might get burned...from experience...

This is an excellent piece of equipment, you'll get a good 1300 watts out of it at peak 2ohms, I have a good one, where it's just shy of 1500 watts.. :)
