Sony XM 2100G Amplifiers

Sony XM 2100G Amplifiers

DESCRIPTION

XM-2100G bridgeable output combines the output of two channels to produce one channel of greater output power. Discrete FET predriver stage employs separate field effect transistors in the pre-drive stage for lower distortion and faster switching. Offers a balanced circuit, which compared the negative and positive signal, canceling identical waveforms. This helps eliminate induced noise, as noise tends to effect both positive and negative wiring equally.

Strength:

Dual mono block construction. One ohm stable. Lots of lean power. It actually puts out more power than it's rated for. Very stable. Never shuts off. Great looks.

Weakness:

Current draw. Two channels.

I've had this amp for about three years. Never had a problem with it. I run three sets of MB Quart components on each channel (1.33 ohms) and this amp absolutely pounds. This is simply the best amp SONY has ever made. Not like those new Xplode amps. I am looking to get another one.

Strength:

Flawless power. I like the amp's ability to run at 1 ohm. The ability to run two mids and a sub all at the same time.

Weakness:

Could use a cooling fan, runs very hot. No built in crossover.

A very good and clean sounding amp. I'm running two twelves bridged off this bad boy and I'm going threw boxes like toilet paper.
