Strength:

serious power, great chrome finish, especially when neons are installed in the boot too. chics are amazed when u pop ur boot...

Weakness:

no built in crossover and serious heating. i use an audiocontrol 2xs crossover and highly recommend it.

i got this amp second hand to replace an alpine v12 amp i was using. im running two orion 10 inch subs and the bass is absolutely insane. theyre wired in bridged mono at 2 ohms. i have to say alpine should be embarrassed by the performance of their products compared to soundstream. the gold screws used to secure wires are a little soft, so dont overtighten them - one of mine actually broke.

Similar Products Used:

alpine, sony, pioneer, kenwood, none of these even come close and the latter three are just rude man

Strength:

One of the best looking amps I've ever seen. I gives over 700 watts from 2ohms down to a 1/4ohm setup so you can use it in any application.

Weakness:

none. it only over heated when the gain was all the way up and that will happen with any amp.

I am using the am on my two Rockford Fosgate Power DVC's. It's been perfect for me. It doesn't drown out my Boston Acoustic components. I looked at PPI, Rockford, and the new JBL mono block. I didn't get to see the JBL first hand but my cousin saw a couple at competitions and said a d class amp just isn't ment to push subs. My cousin has a PPI amp. PPI amps are clear and powerful but the fact that they're upgradeable makes them expensive and I didn't want to have a liquid cooled amp. Everybody in my town has a Rockford amp and they do produce a lot of power but not clear consistant power of a compitition amp. All of this amps are really great and capable of producing massive power but once I got my system hooked up I could not be more pleased with my choice. I've only had this unit for a about a couple of months and hate that I have get rid of it now that I'm going away to school. If you have any more questions you can e-mail me at jlnann68@hotmail.com

Strength:

great power and looks great with the chrome finish. puts out about 500 watts, according to soundstream. i've seen one test in a car stereo mag. which quoted 600 watts.

Weakness:

heats up in summer. needs adequate air to stay cool.

you have to be careful when matching this amp to subs because it doesn't really put out any power until it gets down to 1 ohm. it plays 1/4 * 2 at 4 ohms and 100 * 2 at 2 ohms, and that's not what the amp is built for. i run 2 jl 12w3's run at approx. 1-1.3 ohms, and it's very loud. if you do run the amp at 1.3 ohms or less, you have to have a cap, or else i doubt the electrical system can hold up during the big bass hits. overall, it's a great amp, but you must run at most 1.3 ohm, or it's really pointless to buy this amp. run properly, it sounds great, and the workmanship is unquestionable.
