Strength:

-Small -Runs cool -Sounds fine -Inexpensive

Weakness:

-I personally think the Hawkins Bass boost is overwealming

**Note: The image seen above on this site is not a representative image of the current model. I think that was the 02' or 03' model. Now the amplifier is longer in length...but slimmer on the sides. Color and heat sink configuration remain the same. I have this amplifier powering the Focal 5WS (5-1/4") subwoofer in my 91' Toyota MR2. Signal was coming from an Alpine CDA-9811. I recently changed head units and I am now using the new 04' Kenwood Excelon KDC-X979. I went with this amp specifically because of its small size. I cannot compare it to anything because it has been the only amplifier I have used for my application. It runs pretty cool and my subwoofer sounds good. The controls on the unit are basic. There is the gain as well as a "Hawkins Bass" switch which gives a boost at some preset frequency. I tried it with and without the Hawkins bass. I prefer it without it...the bass boost was just too prominent.
