Only it's sheer size, it is simply massive.

What an awesome amp for the price! After looking around at all of the crap that's saturated today's market I figured I'd take a chance on an older amp since it was relatively cheap and was still brand new in it's box. Man what a great decision. The stats on this thing pretty much speak for themselves.....125w x4 @ 4Ohms, 115dB SNR, FR: 10-50K Hz, Damping Factor > 500, etc. etc. I was a bit skeptical of these figures at first but when the box arrived and I lifted it for the first time I KNEW this amp was serious. If you can look past the cheesy spider and all the bling-bling chrome on this thing, what you've got is an old school powerhouse that delivers as advertised. I'm running two sets of Focal 165K2p's with this thing and man what an excellent combo of old school meets new. I would never even consider needing anything more as far as mids and highs are concerned. I tried running the same speakers with a newer Eclipse amp, the XA4000, and also an Audison LRx that was rated at 65w per channel and although the Audison sounded very nice it didn't have any juice to it. I would have needed 2 to match the power from this soundstream. The Eclipse was a total joke. I was going to go with a JL 450/4 but the specs on this thing were better and the price was about $100 lower. I honestly believe you'd have to spend $1k or more on a current 4 channel amp to beat this thing in terms or power, range and clarity, it's an amazing amp for what I paid. If you can find an unused one for around $350 or so grab it and RUN, you won't find anything else close to it in today's market for the price.
