Strength:

extremely accurate, detailed, powerful, and last but never least, CLEAN sound. more than any other amp this reviewer has ever heard. bar none

Weakness:

amps need to accept larger power/ground leads

To all my fellow Zapco connoisseurs', we are the lucky few who accept the FACT that we own the absolute best car amplifiers in the world - hats off to my brothers! Now, as for what this starry- eyed ZAP owner is running. It's a very simple system, but it suits my purpose which is to enjoy the clearest, brightest, most life-like reproduction of recorded sound possible. If this is your goal than look no further than ZAPCO. I've got one Z50c2 (one of the first 150 serialized, it's a dinosaur) wired in parallel which puts out a very under-rated 50 watts by 2. This juices the Polk/MOMO MM465 6 3/4" mid-bass and MM400 tweeter component system. It's a competition-quality amp so no corners could be cut. All connections are handled by Rockford's gamma geometry signal cable (no symbilink) and speaker wire. These offer the best bang for the buck. Also, Zapco recommends #10 guage or heavier power and ground, don't use anything less than #4, it does make a difference. Pumping the sub (one 12" Rock/Fos xlc) that's right ONE sub, is a more than qualified Zapco Studio100 in a bridged/mono configuration offering around 200 watts. Bass-heads! these are clean lows in a small cab space I'm not trying to advertise my system to the kleptomaniac at the stop light next to me. No built-in X-overs with these puppies, all frequencies are routed by one Audiobahn AX303 this complements the amps perfectly which are set at about 11 o'clock for input sensitivity. Alpine's 7892 heads up the whole operation and starts the signal smooth and clear. The final result? one of the best systems for the amount of money spent about $ 1500

Strength:

very clear and pumps out alot of power, sleek looking black case, 6 channels for a lot of options. RCA or Symbilink inputs

Weakness:

runs a bit hot, and case is about 3ft long.

I've had this amp for a little over a month now and it rocks! I'm a newbie to car audio but i wanted to get loudness and clarity, so i did some reasearch and found zapco. I have this 650 powering 2-JL10W1's and a set of Diamond Audio Hex's 5 1/4" and it pumps! I got the 650 because i wanted one amp to power my whole car (to save $$). it works great.

awesome amp. i have it playing a set of diamond audio hex components and all i can say is wow. had to turn the gains down and fade to the rear to even hear my subs...and they're both getting 700 watts each. definitely go ahead and buy the symbilink to go with this amp...makes a world of difference.

Strength:

Sounds great, easy to setup, looks good.

Weakness:

The heatsink is kind of bulky.

This amp is just awesome, I have it powering my Diamond Hex componets and it sounds great. The amp looks cool and I like how all the connectors are all on one side. I like how the sound just comes out of this and make everything sound so great.

Model Reviewed: Zapco Studio 100x

Strength:

Cross-over, Clean, detailed, accurate, SQ etc. Space saver. Produces way more power than its rated at. I''m running mine at a 2ohm load and getting tons of out-put. Price is GREAT but will not last too much longer b/c Zapco no longer makes this amp:( Can run a second High-pass amp with the 100x''s variable haigh-pass x-overed out-put.

Weakness:

None as long as your not a total SPL freak!

If your after Great, Detailed, accurate Bass but aren''t interested in Pounding the living Crap out of the guy next to you at the stop light this is the amp for you!!! Absolutely awesome clean SQ bass with more than enough SPL to hit you hard in the chest and play bass-heavy CD''s. Get a nice SQ woofer and build an excellent sealed box (a tad bigger than recommended). This is the ultimate SQ bass amp. The Cross-over is an incredable plus with -24db slope on sub and high-pass filter all totally ajustable and can overlap if needed. I have run this little amp as loud and maxed out as i can get it for extended periods of time and its not even warm to the touch under my front seat. An Amp that can propperly handle the heat it generates is an amp that will last for ever. I have more than enough bass for my taste and got more than I paided for by far!!!

Model Reviewed: C2k 4.0 Four Channel

Strength:

Fairly clean sound.

Weakness:

Limited manual documentation, amp sweats easily when it gets cold, fans are noisy and cause interference, special cords are very fragile and cost $50+.

They don''t make them like they used to. This amp isn''t worth the money. It retails for $1000+, buy even at $610 you can find better amps at a cheaper price. Personally I perfer Arc Audio to Zapco amps because there more customizable and have better midrange bass.
