Strength:

Pretty good power, 4V preouts, front input (when it works). Price was good, I got the deck and 8-disc changer for about $320.

Weakness:

Face plate is kind of flimsy, steering wheel remote control does not work (I think it was made for cars which have the steering wheel on the right side).

This deck puts out good power, and had lots of features, some good, some worthless. Bass was good, and the 4V preouts send clean sound to the amplifiers. I had a portable MP3 player that I connected and disconnected many times to the front input (which is one of it's good features), but after a while when I connected it, there was a lot of noise and the sound was distorted in the left channel. I had to resort to getting a cassette adapter to connect the MP3 player to the stereo, but then I couldn't change the volume or anything without ejecting the adapter and closing the face plate. I sent it in because it was under warranty, but they didn't fix it right. I recently upgraded to the excellent CDC-MP3.

The Aiwa CDC-MP3 is better, although it is not in the same class.

Strength:

It's got real good sound modifications and features. The display really turnes heads, and noone around that I know has one like it..it's a beautiful sounding system, and I love it..but am selling it for a cd player.

Weakness:

It died on me once, and I had to send it in..they replaced some components or semiconductors...other then that screw up, it has worked really well..the only thing is that the input jack in the front is crap..you cannot play a cd clearly at all, while u can hear the portable cd player that ur using hooked up to through the input jack...well u can hear the cd spinning, and too much background noise.

yes i would recommend it..i paid 212..through the internet ofcourse..the base price was 179. But don't use the front input jack to play any cd's..although i have for the last 6 months to a year..it's not worth it..go for the compatible cd changer that costs 199..otherwise just get this cassete player's partner..the cd player 176M..i think..
