Strength:

Very solid Head Unit, that works with Cassettes (in case somebody in the world still listens to them) CDs thanks to the CD Shuttle DIN connector and the Shuttle input RCA connectors, and the possibility of having the sound with the WATTS that suit the strenght of your particular musical taste.

Weakness:

None, None and None.
Well, I lost the remote and nobody seems to have it anymore.......so don't loose it because you can't imagine how anoying it is not to have it.
By the way,,,,,,if somebody has an extra one and want some money and a friend........send me a line to Goldensporter@Yahoo.com

Excelent Head Unit. The best Alpine has created in sound quality and design. Among others, a very strong piece of metal, composite and electronics. I have had this unit in a 1967 230 S Mercedes Benz and now in a 1994 B250 Dodge Ram Van with a 1996 CHM S601 disc charger and a 600 watts power plant and every single person riding with me has to ask me about the head unit and the good sound and the nice look and the perfect combination of components. Also I can tell it is weather proof and shock proof. I've been in places at 125 degrees Farenheit and also at 32 degrees, and the unit works always perfect.

Strength:

Ditto with it being the best cassette deck ever created and also the best looking receiver! The dot-matrix display is bright and who doesn't love the 6 green "chiclets?" Can I give it a 5+?

Weakness:

None, but I'd be dreaming if it had three sets of 4V outputs, but that's what the ERE-g180 is for.

I haven't used it in a couple years, but I just found out that I can hook the CHA-S634 changer, which can play CD-RWs and MP3s using a $10 KCA-130B adapter. I almost sold it a couple years ago, but instead let my brother use it and now I know why it was meant for me to keep it. I sold the ERE-g180, which I also loved and will have to buy again:)

Strength:

Best cassette deck ever created. Period. CD changer controls on deck and remote.

Weakness:

None

I've had this deck for years and still won't part with it. It is still competition grade quality. I also have an Alpine ERE-g180 11 band EQ and together they provide a sonic quality few head units can deliver.

Heard this deck on an exceptional car stereo system toghether with a HK CA 260 & two Alpine V12 Amp in mono, two 3 ways speakers systems (Alpine & Macrom). Exceptional deck, featuring HTLAC heads,2 pairs of pre-outs, RDS tuner & remote control.Incredibly large soundstage,no distotion, amazing linearity at any volume.Really top class, even without being a 4Volt output.Could imagine something better sounding.
