Strength:

I've had 4 diff cars since i got this deck. Its really durable, great sound and tone.

Weakness:

No fancy display, but the deck is well worth it.

I'm an amateur car audio installer, i just do it at home sort of as an hobby. I've installed cd players in lots of of my buddies cars, but out of all the ones i've done, the best sound ive always gotten from alpine.

Strength:

Great sound, Turn nob dial. CD labeling. More FM labeling capability then I could utilize.

Weakness:

Low tech. Graphic display is lame. In my truck it skipped occationally. In my car it did not. Thats about it.

The deck is a good one. sound quality is good. heck it better be its an Alpine right. Its kinda low tech though. I would suggest this deck to any one who does not like flashy displays.

Eclipse 54400. The eclipse actaully sounded better but not by much. The exclipse has a flashier Display and 160watts. Plus my subs where eclipse in the truck any ways.

Strength:

It has amazing sound clarity and quality. Works great. Can label CD's and Radio Stations. I like the rotary knob for volume and stuff, better than buttons.

Weakness:

No fancy, colourful display. But Good Sound. Hey for $200 I couldn't go wrong. CAN'T USE A REMOTE!

It works great and you can label CDs and Radio Stations. Lacks BBE. No Fancy Display. Worth Every Penny. I use it with two 3 1/2" Clarion Fronts, two 6 x 9 Sony X-Plods xs-V6945M and a Sony amp.. Sounds GRRREEEAAATTT!!!

JVC 850... JVC Can stick to tv's and vcr's.. There car audio sucks.
Panasonic decks look really nice too.. But Alpine has better sound and quality.

Strength:

The rotary volume knob is the main reason that I bought this CD/Receiver.

Weakness:

My particular unit seems to skip quit a bit. I have a small pickup that is by it's very nature a little more julting than a car, but the factory CD player that came in the truck was almost imposable to get to skip.

Overall the unit is not bad I just don't like the skipping problem.

compaired it to the clarion but got a good deal on this one and the name was also a selling point.

Strength:

Alpines are by far the cleanest sounding decks I've ever heard. There was no need for me to increase the bass/treble control. Very realistic sounding/precise. Volume control is great how when you hold it down it goes down quickly, and Mute button is very useful.

Weakness:

2V preouts
I like really flashly displays, you don't get those unless you buy high-end alpines which cost an arm & leg. but the display is boring, it serves it's purpose though.. I've heard alpine desks with BBE and they do improve the sound which I would have liked to see on this deck.

Borrowed this from a friend because he totalled his car (hey, I was putting it to good use). I think he paid 300 dollars for it, for an alpine deck that's about the price you pay for the features you get. If you just want a deck that you don't have to fool with to get great sound, alpine would suite you well.

Pioneer: Pioneer is a better value, I'd go with alpine for the cleanest sound. If you're techno-savvy you may enjoy the pioneer more with the over-whelming amount of features it comes with..

Model Reviewed: Not sure what year I purchased it.

Strength:

It looked good until it got stolen
It was easy to use
good output to my speakers
sound was very clear

Weakness:

NO remote control
doesnt have bbe

This was my first deck that I had. I loved it while I had it. It played nice and clear and the controls on it were simple. I believe it was 40x4 but I am not sure. For its price class I would rate it near the top. Like I said before I like the clarion a little better. Both are gret decks though. I recomend this deck to anyone who is looking for good clean sound and power and doesnt need a remote like me.

Clarion 5575. I like the clarion better. It has a remote and the speakers play louder with it. Just as clean sound too.

Strength:

Easy to use.
Nice clear sound.
Detachable face.

Weakness:

Not near as many features as most cd players in its same price range. Also no BBE.

I paid 300 for mine installed. For that price I could have bought something with more features, but this CD player still does what it has to do, play cds. Ive had mine for 2 years now, and I still havent had any problems with it. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a good cd player that will last a long time.
