Strength:

Power, looks, slim carrying case, low price, CD-Text, extremely clean sound, differing bass center frequencies and Qs can really add some punch to your midbass if you set it right, great anti-skip protection ...

Weakness:

Crossover points set too high, hard to find rotary knob, rotary knob is too sensitive and doesn't have a whole lot of feel, text on the screen only shows 8 characters, treble center frequency doesn't seem to do anything on my speakers, BBE is garbage, Bass Forward is garbage ...

Value : For $325 Canadian, this is an excellent, excellent head unit. It is last year's model of the 7893 ... Sound quality : Excellent sound quality. Very, very, very clean internal amplifier. Pre-outs have very little distortion. Performance : 27 RMS x 4 internal amplifier is very powerful, actually caused my Sonys in the rear to bottom out, so I can't have the bass up at all. Simple graphics (Pro for me), but I forgot to hook up the illumination switch, so it doesn't dim when I turn my lights off, great anti-skip protection, high pass crossovers aren't worth using unless you have garbage speakers ... Ease of Use : I've been using this head unit in my friend's car over the past 10 months, so I knew how to do everything as soon as I got it. Rotary knob is hard to find, lacks feel, and is too sensitive ...

Strength:

Good looks, Nice sound, But bad quality in the long run.

Weakness:

Burned out Output sound.

Dam this Alpine. I bought it last year. When I changed cars, I also used the same stereo exept the speakers, as I took it to install in my new car, the freaking output sound burned out or something. My advise is not to go with motorized flip, and DON'T GO WITH ALPINE.

Strength:

It still sounds the same as the day I bought it.

Weakness:

I'm always having to buy gas for my car.

This is the best CD player I have ever had. Even though I've had it over 1 and a half years it still has the best quality sound. It has to be one of the best things that I've ever bought besides my car. I have it hooked up to subs and I just bought a new amp. Alpine is the best ever.

Strength:

3 4v preamp outputs built in x-overs classy display top quality build beautifully illiminated endless features/options

Weakness:

I can''t stop praising it!

Wow! This headunit has exceeded every expectation I have ever had. I just picked up a 96 Miata and needed a CD player.. Picked this one up from a friend of mine, becuase of the reputation. Believe me, this headunit makes Alpine''s reputation. It has more features than my last PC, the display is bright and is easliy read under the worst glare conditions. The factory power is incredibly loud, although the 3 4v preamps will be put to use shortly, and I can''t wait to try out the built in high/low/sub x-overs!! It also looks very classy and professional, no dolphins swimming on this LCD!!! It gets my highest recommendation.

Strength:

Great sound. Tons of power for stock speakers, even enough for aftermarket. Makes stock speakers sound really good. Seperate output for sub.

Weakness:

None

I had this installed back in August by Circuit City. It was a pretty good deal for $360 installed. I would have done it myself but I didn''t want to mess with my factory deck. I have a ''97 EX and everything is run through the factory deck. I chose this deck mainly because it has a seperate sub out which is a great feature if you plan on adding a subwoofer. Also, you really can''t go wrong with any Alpine products. It is really easy to get the sound you want with the EQ. You can pick one up for under $300 on Ebay.
