Model Reviewed: Alpine 9823 CD/Receiver

Strength:

Very clean and crisp sounding. Bass EQ frequency is adjustable as is the treble center frequency. Fairly high output amplifier..... 18W/RMS - 50W/Peak per channel. Has a subwoofer output with gain adjustment.

Weakness:

Slow loading and ejecting CD player. Again, could use a mid-EQ adjustment. The player get slightly hot when driven hard for awhile.

Overall a very decent receiver in the low/mid pricerange. Could use a mid EQ control and seperate crossover setting for the subwoofer. The power output is reasonable and the clarity is really quite spectacular. I would make this purchase again if constrained to the under $200.00 price range.
