I don't know whats with these other reviews but I love this reciever. It reads absolutly everything I put in it and has great power at 53 watts over 4 channels. Clarion makes very good head units

Weakness:

Noisy Slow Won't accept warranty claims if bought online

This was my first time using Clarion. I am unimpressed, to say the least. I listen almost exclusively to MP3 cd's or CD-R/CD-RW's and the player was very slow to read and the players mechanism's were very noisy. I mention the player in past tense because it won't read ANY cd's (burned or otherwise) now and I've taken it out of my convertible 2000 Mustang GT. I only used it for about 9 months. About a week after it stopped reading any discs it wouldn't eject the disc I was putting in (i thought it might magically start working again). I got mad and bumped the player with my palm and now the tuner won't even produce sound. I won't buy Clarion again, despite my audiophile friends opinions.

Toggle switch controlling sub levels Fully variable color display

Weakness:

Weak out-put Poor signal processing in my opinion

I'm not overly impressed with the Clarion 835. I recently purchased it after my Ghost fried. The layout of the unit itself isn't very user friendly. The buttons are hard to read and small. A nice feature however is having the sub control as a toggle switch on the face. I was hoping that with the 24 bit processor it would slightly improve the sound quality due to the meager 4V pre-outs. This is not the case, I can not get the unit to produce anything near what my Ghost was doing, I'm running a set of Boston Pro 5.5, and JL VR690 all amped off a JL 300/4. That should tell you something right there.
