Strength:

clear picture, eclipse craftmanship, ESN security, if it''s stolen within the first year eclipse will replace the unit

Weakness:

not much weakness excepst the voltage output could be a liitle higher and I wish it had a sub -out control instead of a subwoofer level control

I love this head unit, first of all i''s a head turner, second it''s unique, since there are not many double din tv screen on the market, and third the picture is clear i have my connected to a DVD player and the picture quality is cvrisp and clear. but I wish that they would replace the tape deck with a dvd player, otherwise, everyone is in love with this radio.

Strength:

Best in-dash monitor I've seen yet. Picture quality is superb. Selectable A/V input/output. Sounds as good as my friend's Alpine CDA-7949!

Weakness:

Needs one more A/V input. Output voltage is lower than I would like. Pleeeeease replace tape with MD.

If you own a car with a double DIN opening (or don't mind cutting your dash apart) and want video, BUY THIS DECK!! Even with a price of $2000, it's a bargain considering what you get. CD, tape, AM/FM radio, video, navigation input, EQ/DSP control, direct control of 2 CD or MD changers, 3 year warranty when dealer installed, Eclipse ESN security, etc... The installation is a snap. Just put the factory radio mounting brackets on, and screw it in. No external tuner/amplifier box to hide under the seat or in the trunk; all the inputs and outputs are on the back of the deck. My only major gripe is the tape deck. Why, Eclipse, why? People who are in the market for this unit are probably more interested in MDs. I myself only have one cassette anymore, MC Hammer's first album. Ever. Guess how much I listen to it? The CD section blew me away, though. Zero hiss through my speakers (which are not yet amped, a problem that will be rectified very soon), and sound as dynamic and clear as my friend's aforementioned Alpine. Movies and video games look especially good on the widescreen monitor, better than any other in-dash screen out there. The simplicity of using it is great, too. Not too many buttons on the front, and every function is only one or two button presses away, no complicated menus here. Anyway, this deck is awesome, I love it, and you need it. 4 stars for value (1 off for price), 5 stars overall.

Alpine IVA-C800: I like the Alpine's interface and graphics better, but the Eclipse is much easier to install(no external box).
