Strength:

- Excellent Sound Quality Power Out put like it has been said before brought my stock speakers to life. - Well laid out controls.

Weakness:

- Could use more trebble - Poor Disply lighting quality - Embarasing Jensen Logo - Error 01 a few times - MP3 Navigation is a bit rought

This was a display model so I got it really cheap. It was on sale at the time and they were still only asking $89.00 for it. I really dont think you can beat the feture set of this unit with the price. It's got lot's of preset's a remote, play's MP3's everything I wanted at a price I could afford. Unit's with this feature set are easily in the $250 and up range.

Strength:

Decent display Remote Price MP3 capability

Weakness:

Apparently cheaply-built No fast-forward/reverse on MP3s Easily breakable volume/next buttons (they still work, but not half as well as they originally did.)

Got this thing for a Christmas gift and didn't get it hooked up until March, but was initially quite impressed. One of my friends even thought about selling his no-remote-control, non-MP3 Alpine to get one. Now, in June, the thing is beginning to act funny. Last week, it decided to stop spinning CDs. You can load the disc, and the display switches to "CD PLAYER" just like it should, but it just doesn't spin. I jacked with it a little bit and got it working again, for about 3 days. So, once again, the exact same problem is taking place and this time, inserting and re-inserting the disc isn't working. Finally I just let it sit overnight and tried it yesterday morning to find it working again. But then last night, as it was playing, it just stopped spinning, kicked up an "ERROR 01" and spit the disc back out, and is now refusing to work again. And, yes, I've tried the reset button to no avail. To top it all off, Jensen is now bankrupt and has disconnected their customer service number. Greaaaat.

Strength:

-Best bang for the buck -- plays mp3 cds for cheap! -Remote control is a cool feature -Brought new life to my stock speakers

Weakness:

-lack of seek feature (fast foward/rewind) on mp3s -90 day refurbished unit warranty -- if you buy a refurb. unit you may want to see if purchasing it on a credit card will extend your warranty (eg. some credit cards double your warranty or add an extra year -- not sure if this applies to refurb units, but it is worth a phone call to your credit card company to find out).

HOLY @#$! I've only had this thing for 1 day and it is a refurbished unit I gambled on. The sound quality is incredible. If you can live without MP3 fast forward/rewind this is the best bang for your buck. I was considering a JVC mp3 cd model ($239CAD at Futureshop)which was considerably more, right now this unit seems great.

Strength:

it maches my cars interior, plays mp3's and the price Rocked.

Weakness:

figuring out how to get it to come on with the volume set lower than the ear drumb blasting 29 it defaults to took me while. even using the manual i could not find it.. but as it turned out all i had to do is #1. find the desired volume level #2. hold down the power button till it reads VOL MEMORY. Not: enough high end detail. a little more trebble control would help alot. That Cheesy jensen.com banner add that rolls across the screen is embarasing

I got this unit to replace the one in my 95 mustang GT with mach 460 sound system. the install was a bit crazy because of the way ford had configured the old radios jacks & amps but I finaly figured out. its not bad but it could use more trebble.

MP3 playback, good power, remote, lots of radio presets,

Weakness:

Jensen name, kinda cheesy display (but there are much worse)

Impossible to beat for the money! Ok, admittedly I wouldn't put this in my OWN car. Only reason being I'm somewhat of an elitist when it comes to stereo equipment for my car. I installed this in my Dad's Olds 88. I was VERY skeptical when we first decided to give it a chance. Holy cow, does this unit kick butt! I kept shaking my head at how good it sounded, what it could do, and how dirt cheap the price is it sells for. If you don't care about brand names, multiple rca outs, or 'tweakability' this deck is THE bargain on the market. As added incentive, Best Buy had a free $20 store card and a free cd (any single disc in the store) with the purchase of a deck over $99. That made it $115 for this deck plus a free CD to boot. Crazy.

Price/value, display, ease of use, warranty support

Weakness:

Common problem of not recognising mp3 disk after repeated on/off cycles of car ignition. Display a little dim in daylight.

Looked all around at different Mp3 players and found this one to be the best value. Have had two small problems with it so far. First it seems to have a problem after having turned off the car a few times it will just display "file scan" and do nothing. If I cycle the disc out then in it will be fine. I saw a few other reviews with this same problem also. Second, the remote worked fine except for it wouldn't make the volume go up. I called Jensen and told them the problem and they just sent me a new remote. That is the way customer support should be. I will buy this again this Christmas as a present for my mother.

Strength:

- Super Value - the beast deal on a CD player that also plays MP3s - MP3 player is much better than just a cd player/changer as you can have about a dozen albums on one CD - Displays MP3 track information - Works with CD-RWs as well as CD-Rs - Quality seems good so far

Weakness:

Don't like the bright blue light on the power switch (looks like the full beams indicator) but that's minor

If you're into MP3s and looking for a good deal look no further. The Jensen MP3510 is a super deal at around $180. In the specs it does not mention that it supports MP3s on CD-RW but I found that that works too although it may ocassionally be tempromental with some CD-RWs (maybe that's why they don't list it as a feature)

Strength:

Automatic recall (memorizes place on CD or CDR), attractive face, adequate sound quality & convenient remote (for irritating passengers)

Weakness:

Volume buttons became loose/less effective fairly quickly, display is difficult to read in bright sunlight, Mp3/CD player not functioning - remains to be seen whether it can be repaired (after less than a year's use)

I purchased the MP3510 in December 2001. I love the Mp3 playback capability & have been completely satisfied with my purchase until last week - Nov. 1 2002. I inserted a regular CD & the player recognizes/plays the tracks on the disk but no sound... also the MP3 player blinks "FILE SCAN" but doesn't read the CDR. The tuner function seems to be fine. It's still under warranty - so I am going to send it in - but I am really aggravated with the inconvenience, particularly since Jensen doesn't pay for removal/re-installation of the FAULTY product or for shipping to the service center. Make sure you read the fine print on the warranty.

Strength:

Sound Quality (not better than factory alpine though) MP3 Price

Weakness:

Quality Looks Its Jensen

It a really good MP3 Player, however It's not anywhere near the best. I know for 150 dollars you can't get better. But there are two factors that made me return this. The first may seem stupid, but it is true. Everytime I would let my friends come with me in my car, they would point and say "haha, its jensen." It is true. Jensens are not know to be good units and with a cheap Jensen, it will BRING DOWN my car's value. Another reason is that it did not fit with my decor as compared to my factory. I understand that this is how all aftermarket players are going to be, but I still prefer the factory. Also the biggest problem, is that randomly it doesnt load the MP3 disk after you turn of the car. I tried multiple cd's and it does the same thing. So it must be with the Player.
