Strength:

Plenty of power, the sound control memory is great! The attenuator is a cool feature too. Also you can take the cd out without having the car on, which is really good.

Weakness:

The face is hard to get on a little sometimes, but not a big problem.

Paid $179.99 thruogh crutchfield, which is great because they give you everything your gonna need, which made instalation a breeze.
All in all it's a good cd player, but i think it will be better once i get my speakers upgraded, the factory speakers are a piece of crap. This cd player is a good value, and good power too.

Strength:

plays all types of cd-r media.....decent at lower volumes

Weakness:

the amplifier blows big time

I paid $279.99 plus tax (CDN $) for this receiver when i was looking to add a cd player to my car. When i bought it, i didnt know much about car stereos, so i just bought one that looked good and had decent specs (40wX4).....as it turns out though, this receiver has the lowest RMS power output of anything else, even in that low price range

As a word to the other reviewer who thought that this receiver would sound better once he added speakers - i though the same thing, and i was DEAD WRONG. Basically (as mentioned in weaknesses)...this amp blows. Turn the stereo up anywhere near a decently load setting and the distortion/clipping occurs, even with new speakers

Knowing that, this receiver MAY be good with an amplifier, since my main complaint is the lack of power

My other gripe, is the layout of buttons....there are same color and similar sized buttons for vol up/down, and track forward/back......bad move indeed. It is hard to concentrate on the road while driving, and actually look to see what button you are pressing.

Overall, this is a decent cd receiver for someone who is looking just to have cd capability (maybe grandma wants to stick in a bit of cd-gospel on the way to church)......but if you want power, buy a kenwood with high RMS, or get a good amplifier.

This receiver does have a few good features though.....it lights up well at night (the buttons are easier to use then).....and never once did i hear the cd skip

Undoubtedly the best experience that i had with this stereo is when someone decided to smash into my car and write it off......the insurance company said that i could take out the receiver, or leave it in and they would pay me $500........heheh WHAT A DEAL!......i bought a kenwood :-)
