Strength:

That rotating face is pretty slick...and when closed, seems very secure. When I burn a cd, the text shows up real nice. The sound quality is pretty good, especially with these borderline factory speakers in the dash.

Weakness:

Trying to open when closed. That little switch thing is not good. The rotating face plate...I like it, and think it is pretty neat...but you sure can see it breaking...thus keeping you out of your radio. I would really like to hook up an external cassette deck, but the booklet gives no idea how to do this.

Probably the best car stereo I have used so far. It plays cdr's just fine, though about one in ten needs to be reburned due to sounding staticky...most likely my burners problem.

Strength:

Rotatable faceplate is a nice feature.

Weakness:

Tiny buttons. Features like treble, bass and balance controls must be reached through sub-menus. Incredibly short lifespan.£

Frankly, I'm surprised at the number of positive reviewes for this unit. When it worked it was reasonably efficient, although the buttons are small--and those same buttons are necssary to reach many of the submenu features. Our 7011 stopped working yesterday; no more lights, no more access to any information, just a black screen. In other words completely useless. We were told that it would cost $90-$150 to fix the broken wire and take 3 to 6 weeks for the repair. Is this Kenwood quality? This unit was never abused, mishandled or subject to any distress other than normal wear and tear on a 3 year old piece of equipment. Surely one should be able to expect more than 3 years of service from a $250 cd/radio, right?

Strength:

Nothing

Weakness:

It's hard to open it when you turn it off.

This is a really great cd player. You cant even tell that it is a cd player until it is turned on because of the black mask. Its really cool how you can change the colors to.

Strength:

Good Power Easy to install Rotating Face Security Code and doesn''t skip often

Weakness:

Not good for compitition

Everyone says that this is sensitive. Well I installed it myself with absolutaly no knowledge about car audio, and it worked great. The face plate rotated well, and it played wonderful with my MTX amp and my 2 Rockford Subs. Then I totaled my car. It was a bad wreck, but the player still works great. The face plate still rotated fine so I was kinda surprised to read that in these reviews. Great audio and good thump at an affordable price. You cann''t go wrong with this. Oh yeah, you can name the cd''s even if you do not have a changer, all you do is hold down the top button just to the right of the display. Then it gives you a line to write in. You chande letters with the buttons to the right.

Strength:

Nice Features. Easy to figure out but the code is annoying so dont enable it until youve got it fully installed. Makes most to all speakers sound good even factory trash sounds better with it.

Weakness:

Cant take the face off and sometimes hard to get to the switch to turn it on.

I paid about 200$ and it was well worth it.

Strength:

Looks incredibly phat. Bright and able to change the contrast and tilting the position out of the sun was neat. Kenwood is a great name. I only buy Kenwood decks. Mask function is very pimp.

Weakness:

Ubid claimed this product was new (I am now wondering) but after about 3 months the bottom row of pixels would fade in and out. When I took it to get repaired (it was just a loose connection no biggie) I found out that Ubid said that it had a 1 year warranty, but apparently Kenwood only allows very few internet sellers to have their warranty. Needless to say Ubid was not one of them. So I sent to deck back and I am looking to get an excelon. Open switch was a pain in the but to get at.

Go with Kenwood, always a good brand. This deck has 2 sets of preamps so you can do some building. I recommend it to people who want a good looking deck and have an amp. It sent a great signal through my MTX amp to my Boston Acoustics separates.

Strength:

This radio is substantially better than I expected. I originally was going to opt for a Kenwood Excelon unit but due to cost considerations, I opted for the 7011. I am NOT dissappointed! This unit sounds terrific! The tuner is about average in sensitivity, the CD Player sounds flawless, there is quite a plethora of features and the amp is clean while driven to moderate levels. It will pre-load the strongest radio stations, you can make the display green or red. The wiring was very straight forward for those who can read the clearly labled wires

Weakness:

I installed the unit in a 1998 Nissan Maxima. The installation was a little troublesome. The unit has a motorized face that shows when on and is hidden when the unit is off. This face is VERY sensitive if the radio is squeezed too tight when installed the face the mechanism can jam. Also the display seems a bit bright to me but I know that's pretty common on the newer radios.

It cost me around 240. I would strongly reccmmend it as long as you have a competent installer that you trust. This unit is delicate to install but once it is in the effort is very worthwile.

My brother is nearly MECP level (he services mobile GPS units) and is greatly into the car stereo scene (as are his friends. The unit easily bests his unit (a Clarion 675) and generally the Kenwood line have good tuners and solid amnplifiers. The CD does not skip or distort or generate ANY background noise

Strength:

Lots of Good Features, Looks real nice, can use a security Code if you want and i like the idea of seeing the clock display at the same time the cd display is going without switching back and forth. Plus the Mask is very cool and makes it less notice able when your not around your car. Also remote option.

Weakness:

Wish it would name the Cd without having a disc changer. Also wish it was a detachable face as well like the other models that are above this one but not to far above.

I payed 220 dollars for it was well worth the price but it usually cost more at other place. I bought this one on a military base and it was on clearnce retail vaule is 300-400 dollars. I would very much recommend it. It is easy to install and learning the features takes no time at all. Looks nice and the mask impresses people. You can put in any car with the right kit i have a pontiac sunbird a got a underdash kit and is cool. Sound is good qulity I like the automatic longdistance feature as well
