Strength:

STURDY, GREAT SOUD QUALITY, VERSATILITY. LOOKS GREAT (SIT FLUSH WITH DASH) AND HAS SO MANY OPTIONS. I HAD A LOWER END KENWOOD DECK BEFORE AND I WAS HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY BUT BEFORE THAT I HAD A MIDDLE RANGE SONY AND IT REALLY SUCKED. IT WOULD CONSTANTLY SKIP AND I DON'T HAVE THAT PROBLEM WITH KENWOOD. I'M A KENWOOD LIFER.

Weakness:

DISPLAY WASHES OUT IN THE SUN LIGHT. EJECTS CD'S TO SLOW (ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUE IN AND OUT OF CITY TRAFFIC).

I DEFINATLY RECOMEND IT TO SOMEONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR THE BEST VALUE FOR THEIR DOLLAR.

Strength:

Clean distrotion free signal. Great FM tuner.

Weakness:

Display

I recently replaced a piece of junk Blaupunkt Alaska II with the 8011. I am very satisfied. I also have an eXcelon in my other car. I can't really tell a quality difference in sound between the eXcelon and the 8011.
My only complaint is the display. I prefer the display of the 9011 which is also found on the 800/900 series eXcelons. The display is hard to see in daylight. I can never get the contrast quite right. Other than that, I am very very happy.
I get no noise that I can discern. The tuner can pick up stations I didn't even know existed and I like the fact that it sits flush in the dash.
