Strength:

5 volt preouts the display sound quality slim remote options and functions

Weakness:

none so far

This deck is the best deck I've used so far. Compaired to Pioneer, Alpine and Kenwood. First off, this deck has the looks; the blue eq display is really nice, but also has the sound quality.

Strength:

Fantastic Looks, 3 pairs of 5v Pre-outs, General high quality look. Nice small remote. Rare deck, yet very good.

Weakness:

Hard to see in sunlight, Letters on buttons fade over time, by using it. Built in amp is not very impressive.

I've been searching for this deck for months now, and finally found one. First of all I recommend this deck as a signal deck. That is using the pre-outs. I owned the model that this one replaced, and that was pure signal deck (no internal amp). It doesn't offer very good EQ adjustments, run a crossover or EQ for best results (with amp of course). Basically there just isn't a deck that looks quite as good as this one, and it performs pretty well too. Good luck finding one, but you'll love it.

Strength:

Great looks, very nice sub out with level and crossover controls, good amp, disc titling, pretty much all of the features lend to this being a great deck- and once again it's great at night.

Weakness:

Hard to see in sunlight, might have helped with eq controls instead of just bass and treb. Those are really the only flaws I can see.

Best head unit for the price or even a lot more. This is the best looking head unit I've ever seen, especially at night. It's almost hypnotic. Before I amped my speakers, this drove my mb quarts beautifully for a deck. Best head unit I've ever used.

More pricey kenwood, jvc, sony, all others paled in comparison to the panasonic- in bang for the buck, features, sound, and looks... especially the sony!

Strength:

Where do i even start. This cd player is amazing. Everyone says that this cd player is all about the looks, but it packs a real punch. It offers a respectable 24 watts of RMS and 96db S/N ratio. On top of that it has an AUX input to hook up things like mp3 players. The center channel speaker adds some loudnes to your system and if your not ipressed by any of thet then the glowing face plate should get your attention.

Weakness:

There are no weakness's for this cd player. This cd player is god.

This is a great cd play that anyone would be lucky to own. Sure you could go get a cd player with little dolphins swimming around on it, but when it comes down to raw specs this cd player has got most of em beat.

Strength:

The display and the features are the best features of this deck. The display is the best out of anyone on the market. The sound from the deck is amazingly clean.

Weakness:

To me, the display isn't that hard to see in the day but the buttons are easy to read and get to so it doesn't bother me. I don't think is has any weaknesses.

Overall, this is the best deck i have ever had.

Eclipse 5440, i had thought this deck was one of the best out there and i was wrong, the panasonic has the best deck sound. I haven't had a chance to hook up my amp to see how good the 5-volt preamps work. My old deck also had a sub-fader and i used it so much because i didn't have to get out and tweak my amp at all.

Strength:

I bought this deck because of the display (yes im sheep) and then read about its features and was even more sold on it. The 5 volt pre-out is definitely a big plus when running an amp. And its gotta be the best display i've seen at night. 45x4 cant be beat either and i like the center channel ability that i'll be adding soon and subwoofer crossover points. Panasonic spankin the big boys.

Weakness:

Hard to see the display if the sun is directly on it or even angeled on it. Hard to keep messing with the volume if your remote isnt handy, would have liked a knob better.

Overall i love this deck. 5volt preout, display, sound quality its all there. Too many companies want to put cute little gadgets on their decks like screensavers, which is unique...but who sees that when you're driving? Mostly eye candy for the passenger. Its good to see some companies still try to increase quality and at the same time keeping the price low for us working audio addicts.

Similar Products Used:

Kenwood, Clarion, Alpine. Even tho i love Clarion, i still think panasonic makes a deck thats just as good for a lower price.

THIS PRODUCT IS THE BOMB. A FRIEND OF MINES TRADED RADIOS WITH ME BECAUSE HE LOST THE POWER CORD TO THIS MODEL WHEN I GOT THE POWER CORD I WAS JUST AMAZED AT ALL THE THINGS THIS RADIO CAN DO. WHEN I HOOKED UP MY SUBS TO THE RADIO INSTED OF THE EQ IT MADE MY EQ SOUND LIKE SH** ALL OF THE FEATURES TO THIS RADIO IS THE BOMB I LOVE THE DIFFERENT EQ CONTROLS AND THE LITTLE LIGHT UP FEATURES ON IT THAT DON'T DO ANYTHING BUT LOOKS GOOD

Weakness:

THE REMOTE IS TOO LITTLE IT WILL BREAK IF YOU DROP IT A COUPLE OF TIMES SO BE CAREFUL. OTHER THAN THAT THERE IS NO WEAKNESSES

I RATED IT 5 STARS BECAUSE THIS PRODUCT IS JUST WONDERFUL THERE ARE A LOT OF RADIOS WITH BIG NAMES THAT DON'T EVEN COMPARE TO THIS MODEL

Strength:

The best of course is the way it looks at night. It's got strong power (47w x 4). It makes my stock hyundai speakers sound really nice (2000 elantra). The controls are really easy to use. It has sub woofer controls which i find handy since i listen to all different kinds of music which require different settings for bass. :-)

Weakness:

True...it is kinda hard to see in the day, but it doesn't bother me one bit. It would have been better if when you muted it, it still played, but very soft. From the looks of it, the other people on this post paid less than i did, which i'm kinda pissed about, but hey i got it a while ago.

All in all, i believe this deck is really great. There's more stuff i could list that's good about it, but i don't have the time.

Similar Products Used:

Blaubunkt (florida?). It had the soft mute which i liked, but not as much power, looks, or other features as the panasonic.

I love the display! It is VERRRRRRYYYYYYY sweet looking, expecially at night! I own a 1990 Cavalier Z24, and it literally lights up the whole interior! It is so bright, but if it's too bright, it has a 3-way dimmer so you can adjust your dimmness. The 47 watts x 4 is pretty cool. A step up from my old reciever (Alpine CDA-7840). The silver color matches my custom painted interior. The mirrored image is cool when the reciever is shut off in day light. The flip down and detatchable face is neat and also, the little, tiny remote is sweet! The best part is it was sooo easy to install! I've never installed a head unit in my life, but it was cake when I went through the manual! I think it's just a really sweet cd player!

Weakness:

Well, nothing really, except that it's kinda hard to see the display in day time, but that's ok by me! It's worth waiting for the sunset!

The reciever is a very expensive reciever at that, but not for the price I paid for it! I paid $269 for it at www.smilephotovideo.com and the retail price is $450! I think I got a really good deal, and the coolest part is that they said it would be delivered in 7-10 work days, and it came in 4 days! WOW!!! I was really impressed! I would definetely recommend this reciever and the site I bought it from to anybody! That place has all kinds of deals on car audio, including cd recievers, cd changers, speakers, subwoofers, amps, and anything else that you can think of! I would like to thank Smile Photo and Video for making my day! You should have seen my face when I seen the package on my doorstep today! It was almost as bright as the face on the reciever itself! :)

Strength:

The best part about this deck no doubt about it is how it looks at night. It also has a built in amp that pushes 47x4. The internal amp pushes a nice clean powerfull sound. It also has three sets of RCA outputs and there all 5volt, as opposed to the usually deck being 2volt and some better ones being 4volt. This deck also has a separate controll for just the sub. Looks wise it's probably one of the best looking decks out there.

Weakness:

Features!!! This deck lacks features. For the price there should be more features. It may have a crossover for the sub, but that's about it. I'm not really into bying car audio stuff just for looks alone. It had to have the performance and features as well as looks. The deck could have a built in crossover for the high's also. It wouldn't hurt to organize the way it works too. The little chessy remote that it comes with is horrible. You have to point the thing right at it. Also I don't like the freq. the bass hits in now. Nomatter what I do to the deck or amp. I just don't like the way it hits now. It hits clean but the freq. is killing my ears quickly then before with other decks. A little hard to see in the day. And a knob volome looks better and is easier to use, more convienent.

It's a hot deck. It's more about looks than anything else. For the money I think it should come with more options. It's Internal amp does push nicely though. It your into options and fine tuning of everything it's not the deck. If's a little unorganized the way it's set up. Pioneer and upper model Alpine decks are the way to go. This deck probably has them all in looks though.

Similar Products Used:

I've owned three other decks. Pioneer DEH-48 a 98 model.
An /////ALPINE TDA-7564 Also a 98 deck even know it came back in 99. And another Pioneer DEH-8200R, the one with the Dolphines on it. The fist pioneer was allright, it was pretty good for the money. The Alpine was awsome, although it was only 40x4 it pushed clean power, and was simple to use. The Pioneer 8200R was an awsome deck. Never should have sold it. The deck is about 30 more than the Panasonic but is well worth it. When it comes to looks the Panasonic at night looks off the hook, even better than the Pioneer with the screensavers. but the Pioneer had so many more options. Alot more.
