Strength:

Great power for 4 speaker system. reliability. Its a pioneer.

Weakness:

None that I can think of.

Had this in a 1994 f150 for 9 or 10 years. Put it in my new 2005 f150 supercab. Had it in there for 4 years left channel in rear stopped working. So now I am replacing it. Great radio. It last a long time. No problems until now. Can not complain at all.

Strength:

Has enough umph to sport my 2 infiniti Kappa 6x9s and kappa 3 1/2s and still asks for more speaker!! I have those poor kappas cryin with this thing!!! Great functionality! awesome sound! Best bang for the buck in my book!

Weakness:

Figuring out all the functions , setting the clock. Other than those haven't had a single problem with it!

Very affordable , even at new prices. Tons of things to adjust for better , clearer sound!

Strength:

Great sound. Once I figured out how to use it, it was easy to get the sound I want.

Weakness:

When it works, not too much to complain about.

After a year, the tuner lost the whole left channel. The CD player works ok. Kinda P.O.'d that it did this. I'm in the process of trying to fix it. Hopefully it won't cost much. If so, I guess it will be scrapped and a new one (not a PIONEER) will be put in it's place. Not very happy!!!!

Strength:

Powerful amp
Very customizeable
Yellow display look fine with Ford green illumination
Loudness control throws in a ton of treble and bass
Good price/performance ratio

Weakness:

FF/RW on CD does not lower the volume (as on my old Alpine)
Have to hold a button for 3 secs to turn it off
If it's paused when you turn the car off, it will go to Play when you turn it on.
Unfriendly user interface (as with all Pioneer car CD receivers)

I wanted a deck with a higher power amp, and better bass response so I took out my circa 1994 Alpine (which I had installed in my previous three cars) and installed in my girlfriend's car. That deck is still rockin. Put one of these budget Pioneer decks in my car. The sound is much better in terms of loudness and bass response. It's got these fancy little "easy eq" settings, but I find that I just leave the loudness on and set the bass somewhere between -2 and -3 which works well with my four 5x7 speakers and powered Kenwood 8" subwoofer in the trunk. I need to put some capacitors (bass blockers) on the speakers cuz all the bass causes some rattle and I'm sure plenty of distortion. But this deck rocks, why spend $200-$500 when this $100 deck is all you need?

Strength:

Great power... lots of customizing features

Weakness:

Display can't be read in direct sunlight

A great CD player at a great value... Has just the right amount of features and it is still easy to use. I can't really say anything bad about it. Sounds great with after market speakers (I have $65/pair 2-way sony explode 5 1/4" speaker's with it.) Great clarity and power!!!

Strength:

Solid sound with a lot of flexible options through use of the build in equalizer functions. Clear display in almost all conditions. CD player did not skip so far, even in sub zero temps and rough roads (in a jeep). If you are looking for a good in dash receiver without a lot of bells and whistles, but want to be able to customize the acoustics to your vehicle, this is the one for you.

Weakness:

Very poor instructions but with time you manage to fumble through the some what non-intuitive equalizer functions. Volume and equalizer buttons are large and easy to reach but many of the other function buttons are too small. Could also use a seek function for the radio and two speed fow/rev CD scan function.

Overall a good bang for your buck for receivers in this price range. The only other one to consider would be the Sony CDX-2250 for around the same price. ($150.00)
