Strength:

it was free, if it works ill replace my old alpine cde-7872 b/c i think this pioneer is a better deck

Weakness:

it may not work

i found this deck in a car in a salvage yard that i work in, and it didnt have a face plate. The car i found it it still had all of its doors and windows so it cant be water damaged, would it be worth trying to buy a face plate for it to see if it works?

Strength:

More pre-outs for system expansion.

Weakness:

Looks so good, they get stolen easily... Take the face OFF.

Great Receiver, Has alot of options and very easy to read. Has the DFS Alarm, And 3 sets of Pre-Outs unlike the lower OEL Decks, I''d recommend saving a few more bucks and getting the 8200R, Or the Premier 720r.... Stay away from the 7200.

Strength:

Verrry nice display. Great controls (subs, eq's, etc.)

Weakness:

Whenever something happens to battery, display is messed up and you must chnage it.

Dont buy at Best Buy. They jack you for installation. Great sounds, never once has it skipped!

This is a great unit. Fantastic display that is a eye catcher while you have other people in the car. I have had the unit for about 2 months. I bought the remote that is optional and its so nice to have. Bright display with many options.

Weakness:

Only has 2 pre-outs, could use an additional 3rd output for subs. Doesnt come with a remote and the pre-outs are just normal not High Volt. If you have the cash look and invest in the DEH-P8200, if your not looking for a complete system and a nice radio you cant beat this one.

I paid 269.99 from sbhcorp.com, great customer service with low prices. I would definetly recommend it.

Strength:

Sound quality is spectacular, the display of course is pretty, and just overall quality

Weakness:

The buttons are sometimes hard to use, very tiny and hard to press while driving. Read the MANUAL because this puppy is hard to get used to if you hooking it up to a system with all its features.

This is a very sweet deck for sound quality, the only thing it is lacking is usability while driving. Some buttons are way too small, and the fold down face is a pain for changing CD's.

Old Pioneer GM Full Size CD Deck, the sound quality is much better than the old Pioneer CD deck I had, but it was easier to use than this new one. Bigger buttons, laid out better also.

Strength:

Excellent sound quality, and so far has never skipped. The screen savers are awesome (the dolphins are my fav cuz the pyramid one makes me dizzy). It catches a lot of attention and the control you have over the EQ is great.

Weakness:

I haven't found anything I REALLY don't like about it. Only that it has one set of pre-outs (my car has a factory installed amp which works really nice) but if i ever want to install a whole new speaker system, the one set is really gonna cripple me.

It's great if you're willing to pay for all the extra features. I ended up paying WAY more for it that I had originally planned (i bought it at Best Buy and had them install it). Buy it online if you want to get it at a decent price. The controls are excellent and it never skips. I wish it had some sort of dfs alarm on it though like the higher models. If you want something that's an excellent buy for your money, buy this. Pioneer has always made great stuff.

Original factory deck (crap...didn't even have a CD player...it was just a tape deck), Sony, an old Pioneer Premier...and a lot of others. The 7200 is MUCH better.

Strength:

Awesome Looking Head Unit, Has Everything I always wanted, Has awesome controls; i.e. EQ Fine Tuning, Sub Control, and Never skips (unless scratched CD)

Weakness:

2 sets of pre outs I did get kinda upset about that...but I guess that's what I paid for, If you want to save up maybe a couple of more bucks just get the Premier DEH-720r or Pioneer DEH-P8200 more pre-outs and higher voltage, and the Premier comes with a 2 year warrenty.

I would recommend it but as I said if you can keep your panties on and wait to get just a couple more bucks then you should just get the Premier 720r and you will be happy. Unless you are just going to use it with the stock speakers and never get any subs then you should just get this deck and you will be happy I promise. Pioneer Rocks and they always will in my book.

Strength:

Good display, functionality and all-round performance. Stands by the Pioneer 'value for money' policy totally

Weakness:

This is not a weakness. This is a totally disabling handicap. Only 2 pre-outs???? Horrendous! Come to think of it, even other cheaply rated Pioneer models of the past have had 2 sets of full range pre-outs and 1 set of sub-outs. This is most disgraceful. I hate having to use an external crossover or amplifier electronics to obtain the much desired front-rear distinction and the sub channel.

Its OK. Nothing to shout about..cos Pioneer always dishes out such good stuff. However, next time around, I expect all-round robustness in design and functionality.
