Model Reviewed: rfx-9320

Strength:

5volt preamp outputs, very very solid receiver inside and out. Literally.

Weakness:

The person who designed the mp3 structure of this unit needs to rethink things. I would say that he is the least intelligent one in team rf. I wouldn't doubt it if he was the one who forgot to add the feature of disabling the internal amplifier in this unit. I dunno, maybe it was intentional considering the rfx-9420 has NO internal amplifer and the preamp outputs are bumped up to 8 volts! Rockford Fosgate have some things to take care of in the source unit section. An exeption is that they havent been making source units as long as say Alpine or Jvc which are by the way, very nice receivers.

This is a great receiver besides the fact that navigating through mp3's could be simplified. Every time you try to scroll through the folders on a mp3 cd you have created, it will always begin at the first folder. Say you go to the 5th folder down the cd and then you select a song and listen to it. You press ROOT on the remote and scroll through the folders again and your AT THE BEGINNING AGAIN. I found this to me a bit aggrivating. My last complaint is you can't disable the internal amplifier in the reciever. I am currently not using it and there is no way to disable it in the menu whereas my previous jvc receiver you could. Otherwise, this is a nice receiver besides the fact that the knob binds a little when you turn it at times. I wouldnt call it smooth operation but a nice touch to the remote and faceplate.

Similar Products Used:

None, I have a JVC SH-99 which I would prefer anyone to get before considering to get the RFX-9320! Just the fact that the jvc has a remote that has seperate buttons to navigate through folders and ones that are for going through tracks in the folder.
