Strength:

Fold down cover allows for more space for the receiver''s interface. The face is also detachable, so it''s pretty secure (if you bother to keep the faceplate with you, that is!). Clean sound! I was amazed by the difference between my factory receiver and my new Sony receiver.

Weakness:

Confusing interface, much like most receivers.

Overall, I''d have to say this isn''t a bad receiver at all. It wasn''t overly difficult to set up (at least with the crutchfield instructions). The interface is still a bit confusing, but there aren''t many ways to get around this. The receiver offers so many functions with not many controls. As long as you''re not trying to tweak your equalizer controls while driving in rush hour traffic, you''ll be fine. The most commonly used functions (volume, forward/back track, etc) are easy to find and easy to use by touch. Sony also offers a CA660X model, and as far as I can tell the only difference is a 5.5 volt preamp output (compare to this unit''s 2 volt output). So I guess if you''re planning on using an amplifier, go for the pumped up model. Otherwise, this is a very good model for doing a simple upgrade to your existing sound system. Loud music sounds crisp and clear -- it''s amazing!

Strength:

1) Price - Does not skip 2) Flexibility of a built-in EQ 3) Sounds really great unamplified 4) Flip Face 5) Remote

Weakness:

Needs an Amp. No weaknesses, really. For the price you get a unit that you can build on. It rocks!

I like this deck. It is pleasing to listen too. Having been using aftermarket car audio since the early 80''s I can say this unit encompasses it all.
