I have had this unit for a short time and lt me tell you i love it. I have 2 12" pioneers hooked up with no amp and this unit beats my 12's harder than some of my friends systems that have amps. I give this head unit a 10 and then some.

Strength:

Sleek design, effective EQ system.

I bought this headunit because I needed a good quality CD player for my truck and didn't need anything fancy or too expensive. I've been very satisfied with the CDX-L300. It has really good radio reception and easy to use functions. The CD player is very quiet in operation. Even though it's only 22watts, it puts out a very clean 22watts to my speakers. I don't have it outputted to an amp, so I can't comment on that. It has a bass/treble control for +/-5dB. It also has a 3 step bass boost which really makes my really 6.5" speakers sound like I have a small 8" sub installed (really!). My favorite part is the design. At night, the LCD is a clear sleek blue while the buttons light up red and flash to the music. Makes it look really nice at night, and our friends always like it too. Even though it's a little simple CD head unit, it really gets the job done. For someone looking just for a quality head unit (without plans for attaching an amp), I would recommend the Sony CDX-L300. It's not too expensive, get's the job done, and has an execellent EQ system.
