Strength:

Excellent sound, impervious to skipping, flexible mounting angles.

Weakness:

None

This unit with a cable configuration adapter is attached to my 2000 BMW 323i factory head unit and controls through the factory radio. Sound is fantastic. $295 for the unit and adapter which plugs into the factory harness versus $800 for the 6 disk factory job. Less than an hour for do-it-yourself installation. Highly recommended.

Strength:

12-disc capacity, 100-disc titling, great price compared to 6-disc, very quick change time between discs

Weakness:

ground wire should be built in with power/audio cable(like on Kenwoods)

for $195 you can't beat it, never skipped in a whole year, typical pioneer quality is outstanding truly a great changer, especially for the price!

Strength:

Very Very nice! It produces beautiful sounds and looks great too in the trunk. I also love how small it is compared to other changers. But the reason I invested in Pioneer 4 months ago and bought the head first was because of the CD-Text. I can't tell you how much I love that feature. Not many CDs are encoded yet, but I have a CD-Text capable CD-Writer and therefore I can encode all my MP3 and then watch the name of songs pop up in the reciever.

Weakness:

NONE. Absolutly flawless changer. Does not skip at all. One thing which might deter a beginner from installig it is unlike other changers that have only one installation cable for everything, this changer has the data cable and then you have to wire the positive and negative cables seperatly.

Paid $240 and installed it myself. Very easy to install (maybe not to beginners). If you need to play CD-RW and CD-Rs, then this is only machine I tested that does the job and does it very well. Also, the CD-Text is very nice and with 12 CDs in there, you don't need to speed to get home or to work.

12 discs, wow! I have found Pioneer to be very reliable in the past , so
I went with them again. No problems and easy to install. I got mine for
$195 brand new on Ebay! Best buy sells them for $279 plus tax. What a deal!
I find myself driving past my home so I can listen to another cd.

Strength:

Clear, static free sound. A good buy at $250 for a 12 disc changer. The remote for this item is handy, just don't lose it! Amber display is clear at night, and visible during day as long as you have the display unit installed in a shaded area

Weakness:

The door that closes the CD's in feels cheap. If you don't make sure a close the door completely it will rattle and can be annoying

I had been waiting for about 6 mo. before I bought this unit. I was able to get a store rebate and a manufacture rebate to bring the total cost of this unit to around $250 installed. It was a good bargain. I have had no problems w/skipping, reception, etc... Like I said the door closing in the CD's appears to be cheap, but it looks like a common trait w/CD players in this price range. I would recommend this product.

Strength:

This unit has great anti-skip damping. Power is supplied via a separate fused wire that runs the length of the trunk data cable. Connectors have latches to prevent disconnection from vibration. This unit will read CD-RW and CD-R audio disks recorded on home computers. Disk changes are quick as this unit reads all 12 discs upon immediate insertion of the cartridge.

Weakness:

The changer door latch feels cheap and will probably rattle open if in a vehicle with a bumpy ride. A recessed area for the connectors/wires would have helped in a cramped installation.

This CD changer is fantastic. Purchased it online through Yahoo Shopping for $220 shipped. The unit is tall, so under-the-seat or glovebox installations are going to be challenging. Installation instructions are good and included hardware accommodates many configurations. Performance, looks, features, price are all great. I recommend this unit for direct connection to a Pioneer unit or possibly to a factory radio via an interface adapter. Remember though that all the special data features of this unit may not work with factory units. My reason for the 4-Star rating is that the changer door is too complicated and prone to wear problems over the life of the unit. Alpine's door design is much better.

Strength:

Outstanding antiskip, used while offroading I can't remember when I last heard it skip.
I can use computer-burnt Cd's in player. Others (kenwood) can't read burned cd's.
The only 12 disc player on the market.
Super-fast disc queing.

Weakness:

It's big, but what do you expect, it holds 12 cd's.
Cd changers like this one are hard to find places to mount if you don't have a trunk.

$375.00 Canadian. If you can get it on sale like I did, you won't be dissapointed. Pioneer makes the best sounding Cd changer on the market.
