Strength:

Everything

Weakness:

Absolutely none.

To Dave from below, what kind of idiot buys a 5 band eq then is pissed because it has only 5 bands and is not a complete system eq? The 4.1 is a great eq, the line driver makes a huge difference. I also really like the para-bass. The other 4 bands are not meant to make a awful sounding system like Dave must have sound great, they are for minor adjustemnts to difference or problems with the source you are playing such as some recordings that have weak bass or high frequencies. If you want a system setup eq look for something like a Precision Power DEQ-30, if you want a great 5 band eq for minor correction and a line driver check out the 4.1 or 3.1 if you need a crossover as well. The 3.1 is the 4.1 minus the control at 500 hz, but the addition of a 24dB crossover.

Strength:

line driver, balanced outs, aux input

Weakness:

no rear inputs... not enough parametric EQ points

Great great item...lots of features. Its number one purpose however is as an EQ...its not the best EQ because it only has 5 Eq frequencies. But they definately help for on the fly tuning especially if you''ve got another EQ of some sort somewhere in your signal chain where you can fine tune the frequencies that your system constantly needs tuned, otherwise the four.1 definately hits the right spots. I love the fact that Im using it with the audiocontrol 6xs so I actually have a high voltage signal from the line driver of the four.1 running on balanced lines to the 6xs. This makes for a really quiet and saturated signal...so this EQ is definately worth even more to you if you use it with an AC x-over or EQ which will take the balanced signal from the four.1

Strength:

i like the fact that i can connect my exhaust manifold up to it and make exhaust sound louder as well as my stereo.

Weakness:

i dont like the fact, that it doesnt have an AC input, so that eliminates the chance of hooking up electric cookware, for dinners on the go

i paid $880 for this, i dunno if i got ripped off or what, but i dont care, im on welfare and my money goes to this sort of useless stuff anyway. But when i crank all the dials on it, it sounds super loud, and the speakers start to crack and bubble, so i know its getin lots of power. I am hopin to compete this year!

Strength:

great line driver, has a few nifty feature

Weakness:

freqs should be variable, its a 5 band, so its VERY limited as an eq

as far as a full system eq, forget the 4.1, its good for a little tweak here and there, not much more, I now use mine off the sub outs on my deck, and use it only to tweak the bass end, and as a line driver, it , like all A/C products, has a great s/n ratio

Strength:

Easy to use, extremely low noise level/dB, Easy to use knobs easier to reach then tiny buttons on cd player... etc

Weakness:

1/2 Din size not the easiest to install

Definitely recommend, one of the best pieces to buy to fine-tune your system. Not just all show, it actually does a damn magnificent job!!
