Strength:

Very Flexible Parametric Eq. DSP sound modes. Awesome built in crossover network.

Weakness:

Display totally washes out in daylight. Very difficult to install in some cars. Display not as cool looking as the DEQ 9000. Hyper expensive.

When I first saw this eq, I had to have it. It was flashy, digital, had the microphone for the auto eq function, and had a built in x-over network. I liked the way you could save 4 presets settings with one button recall. When I installed it in my second car (94 Toyota Celica) it took me about 5 hours to figure out how to install. The trim ring that pioneer gives is a little too big to fit into japanese cars. Anyway, I wish they had put some type of a contrast function for the screen, because you cannot see the display in sunlight at ALL! You have to wait until it gets dark to enjoy the light show. Speaking of the display, it's ok, but the cheaper Deq9000 looks better. Anyway, it does an ok job. I probably would not buy it again.

Strength:

Auto EQ, X-over built in, DSP, Two piece design, Can adjust levels/crossover points from the dash and per speaker system without unpluging anything. Position indicator; music classification eq curves; eq curves can have their levels changed; User defined eq curves with presets; adjustable x-over slopes and phasing

Weakness:

Signal to noise ratio is too low, Has it's own volume without remote, Only 500mv output, Should have a noisegate built in, Auto Eq sets the bass level too low

This is a great equalizer and active crossover if you are needing both in your system. The auto eq works great but you may want to play with the mic locations. The DSP works well but works better in bigger cars. I paid $350 for mine
