Strength:

GPS feature is great! Very precise detection. Speedometer is a huge bonus, extremely accurate. The feature that lets you program in false signals is a must have.

Weakness:

None that I can think of.... a little pricy.

Great product. I'm not sure why other people on here have had continual problems. Could be an issue with the device if it is under/over powered. I would recommend getting that checked if you are getting this device. I haven't had one issue with this radar detector. It has paid for itself many times over again since I do a lot of highway driving.

Strength:

GPS function is a lot of fun and useful too.

Weakness:

Hard to find a Uniden GPSRD where both the radar detection and GPS functions work.

Just like many others, I have had problems with 2 of these units. Uniden has a major problem with this product. If radar detection is critical for you, avoid this product.

Strength:

Great detection when it works or for as long as it is working. GPS system is dead on!

Weakness:

Can't keep it working! Need to fix whatever design flaw is continually plaguing these units!!!

Have found that the GPS portion is great and very accurate. As far as radar and laser detection goes, when it works it is dead on. I got my first unit in January and noticed shortly after that it was not detecting radar waves (A stationary unit telling you your speed and no reaction from your unit is a dead give away something is wrong). Sent it back and told me I would get it back in about 2-3 weeks. Five weeks later I called to check on it and "they had just sent it out that day" - whatever. Got the second one, a brand new one and same results. For about 3 weeks it worked great, than one day - nothing. Same stationary unit (that might I add was picked up on in the past by the GPSRD when it was working and my old Bel unit)got no reaction from the detector.

Strength:

Good sensitivity, in keeping with the price range. Excellent signal strength display. Always on compass and real-time speedo Multiple step display dimmer. readings (found out my car speedo is a bit optimistic!) Solid build quality Rubber bumpers on rear of case (windshield side)

Weakness:

Wimpy windshield suction cup mount (a problem with most makes) that should be at 50% larger. I know this will need replacement. Power cord shoud exit at the front, not the side. Normal movements in an automotive environment cause stress to side mounted receptacles, eventually causing breakage to the surface mounted jack. This is also a design flaw on many units. No dark mode.

The product lives up to it''s claims-what more can I say? Radar sensitivity and signal strength metering are quite acceptable and the several "city modes" (essentially a squelch) are a real plus. Usually most units have only one city setting. The GPS feature really works, though this is NOT a substitute for a full blown navigation system. You are able get to get "as the crow flies" distances to many cities, including smaller ones, along with compass type directions.

A great idea, if it ever works.

Weakness:

Makes a good paperweight

Just sent back my second defective unit in one month. Uniden service poor, still waiting for refund from first unit a month later. Look elseware!
