Boston Acoustics 6.53 System Speakers

Boston Acoustics 6.53 System Speakers

DESCRIPTION

The most satisfying three-way you've ever experienced. The choice for high end installations, the 6.53 features a 6-inch woofer, 4-inch midrange and a 1-inch dome tweeter with three mounting options. The ProSeries .5 components are to car speakers what the silver back male gorilla is to the rest of the group, the dominant member of the species. They can handle gobs of power without distortion. And they maintain a Nebraskan-flat frequency response. There are four ProSeries component systems. Each includes two Neo 5t 1-inch tweeters, several tweeter mounting kits, hardware, grilles, system-specific crossovers, and woofers designed to fit one of three factory cutouts. The ProSeries rigid die-cast aluminum baskets serve two purposes. They act as a heat sink to help decrease heat and increase power handling. And they keep critical parts in perfect alignment, even when subjected to the stresses of installation and jarring road conditions.

Strength:

Incredible detail and clarity. Can play WAY LOUD and they just sound clearer (if that is possible) and better. Clean sound IS the best drug.

Weakness:

Require LOTS of power !!! Running them biamped (Crossovers allow direct or biamp mode) with 100 watts to the highs/mids and 100 watts to the bass speakers (McIntosh MC431M).

Incredible clarity especially mids and highs. Love Boston Pro Series (Have 6.5, 5.5, 10.5, 12.5 in other vehicles). With an obsession for CLEAN sound, I think I finally feel that I can not find a better speaker. Although there are few 3 way components to compare to, this could be the advantage which they possess. These speakers are being fed by pure McIntosh power and they sound Awesome !!!
