Boston Acoustics RC820 Speakers

Boston Acoustics RC820 Speakers

DESCRIPTION

Our flagship Rally component system features a unique oval 5 x 7"" driver that delivers more bass than nearly any other component-system woofer, yet can be installed easily. Kortec tweeters with three mounting options and system-specific crossovers complete the set.

A cast aluminum Amplitude Modification Device (AMD) is mounted in the center of each woofer which acts as both a heat sink and a mechanical filter which smoothes the woofers sonic output. Copolymer cones and butyl rubber surrounds deliver clean, smooth performance in hot, humid or cold climates. The woofers heavy-gauge reinforced steel baskets keep all moving parts in alignment. Up high, the Neo3r tweeter, with its Kortec dome delivers accuracy and detail. The Neo3rs neodymium powerful-yet-incredibly-small magnet means the Neo3r tweeter can fit in locations like kick panels, side mirror panels, dashboards nearly anywhere. To increase the number of mounting options, we include three tweeter mounting kits flush-, surface-, and angle-mount. The brains of the operation, our system-specific crossovers are tailored to the exact requirements of the corresponding companion drivers.

Strength:

Quality, sensitivity, ability to adjust soundstage with seperate tweets, and many more

Weakness:

the only suggestion I wouls have would be to allow the crossovers to accept larger wire. 14G is the biggest uou can easily get in. I was able to use 12G but I had to thin it down a hair. I would think that alot of high end installs use 12G wire..... right?

these sound great. I'm feeding them a little over 100 Rockford Fosgate watts and they are doing it gor me. I mounted the tweeters high and had to use the jumper to set the tweeters at -4 (thanks Boston). anyway buy 'em if you get a chance they sound GREAT!!!!!!
