Strength:

Turn the bass all the way up, and no distortion. I have a aftermarket Clarion that puts out 18 watts rms. These can handle more.

Weakness:

The speakers seem to reproduce the highs and the lows a bit better than the mids. You need a decent pair of smaller speakers in the front of your car to get the full sound spectrum.

In 1986, I sold car stereo equipment. I had plenty of time to sample all the speakers, and at the time, I liked the sound of the Clarion 6 X 9's better than any others. (I compared them to Pioneer, Kenwood, JBL, Jensen among others) After being away from the business for nearly 20 years, I took a chance on these hoping that I'd feel the same way about these 6 X 9's and I DO.
