Strength:

none

Weakness:

poor build quality , poor sound quality with more than 10 rms , dies quick with any real power applied

Poor overall. Worked good w/ the OEM radio but when I installed the Blaupunkt the left tweeter died inside a week , so much for 125 rms as stated by JBL.

Strength:

High volume, good mid-bass and high tones

Weakness:

Dont expect very low beats from a 6''5 carspeaker and those connections and fixed crossover which cannot be detached from its wires wasnt a good plan.

Good carspeaker for its money, sounds very nice in combination with my Rockford Fosgate 2600x amp which only drives this composet (luxury has it this way).

Strength:

amazing highs. impressive 3-way components.

Weakness:

bass a bit directional...sound better in kick panels than in doors...but if you want bass, get a sub. dont expect to rattle other cars with 6.5" speakers.

amazing highs. impressive 3-way components. mid/tweets fit PERFECT in my dash (95 neon). unbelievable voice reproduction, cymbal texture, and overall detail of the music. decent bass response, very tight with midbass (punk rock kick drums = perfect). overall, clarity is unmatched to anything ive heard.
tweets can get harsh at really high volumes, but thats probably cuz my 45 watt head unit is powering them. with an amp, prolly would sound much cleaner and get louder (obviously).
some say the un-adjustable crossover network is bad, but JBL knows what they're doing. the crossover points and slopes are perfect for the speaker's abilities.
connectors seem a little soft/weak, but are you gonna install/remove them six times?
got on crutchfield for $90...can you possibly beat that? they're $250 list and $200 typically. there is no better deal...amazing speaker even at $200.

Strength:

Pretty good sound, great power handling

Weakness:

Sound can sometimes be harsh, not as bass-y as they were in my friends car

These speakers have been replaced, so you're not likely to find them anywhere anymore. They're pretty good speakers- they sound good, but after extended trips (more than about 2.5 hours) at high volume, they do get a little trying on the ears. For the money, I don't think you're going to find a better pair of speakers. Polk is the only speaker I've heard that sounds better, but they don't go as deep as the JBL's. And Infinity's sound really good too, but they're more expensive. Overall, I think I'd get a set of Polks as I'm running a subwoofer and don't really need the front speakers to go as deep as the JBL's go.

Strength:

Excellent speaker. Very easy installation in a Honda Accord. Took 10 minutes in the parking lot. Sounds great with low power. Does not need much to get it going.

Weakness:

none

$100 - Clearance at local electronic store.

Definately reccommend for a nice, low price speaker. Won't fit in my new car, but I still use them ina custom enclosure. These are the speakers that made me love JBL.

Strength:

Play loud with a good amp
fairly cheap

Weakness:

ugly, chunky grill, very little bass response, cheap construction

If you want these then you better buy a sub aswell.
Be careful when removing the wires from the connectors they r cheap/weak as dirt.
I would not buy them again.
If you want bass get kenwood 6x9's, I wish I had!

Strength:

The cone surface is rough...looks almost like kevlar. This is supposed to break up harmonic imbalances. The sound itself is excellent. I like the crystal clarity of cd's, but often feel they lack 'warmth'. These speakers have an inherent meatiness to them. While not on the level of lets say a tube amp, I fell in love with them and had to drive out of state to get a set when they were discontinued.

Weakness:

The tweeters are harsh and the crossover is a non-level adjusting capacitor.

I would definitely reccomend them if you prefer a more 'natural' sound.

I, along with 2 friends with a good 'ear" for sound/music compared these side by side to the comparable Polk model of the time. We all agreed that the Polks had a more uniform level of all frequencies produced with better seperation. The 'feel' of the Polks however was 'digital' whereas the JBL's were 'analog'. 2 of us preferred the JBL's, 1 the Polk's so it's really personal taste.

Strength:

Good highs and midrange performance, definitely an improvement over my factory's in my car.

Weakness:

Distortion at high volume, thrashy. Also, I bought them this past summer and one of them is already bad since it rattles.

Not a bad speaker since I got a good deal on them, but I think I would spend more next time and get some Infinities or Premiers.
