Strength:

Decent bass handling, highs reproduced well, good if you're on a budget.

Weakness:

Keep the treble down, or you'll find your ears ringing.

In my previous car, I had a pair of Pioneer 6x9's that, just by the sheer size of them, were able to produce deeper bass. In my new Honda Accord, I naturally had my heart set on a set of Pioneers, since I've previously had good luck with them. However, as I listened to other speakers in Cartoys showroom, I found myself leaning more towards the Kenwoods just because they were simply more pleasing to my ears, producing deeper bass and adding more dimention than even some even more expensive speakers. Had I had the extra cash for a pair of Polks or Infinity, I may have gone with them, but since price is a matter of concern, I stuck with the pleasant-sounding, less expensive Kenwood KFC-166S.
Installation of the unit was uneventful, and all the mounting hardware was included. The included clips were not thick enough to clasp on the back shelf, so i used them in the way that one would use a nut, and they are holding quite securely.
The sound these speakers produce in my car melds quite nicely with the KFC-1058S speakers I purchased, with the 6in light blue Pearl Mica cone pulling in adequate bass. Turning up the volume on these I would recommend keeping the highs down, as the 35mm dome tweeter sings loud and clear in this range. The tweeters sit on the end of a post that protrudes through the center of the cone.
All-in-all, these speakers reproduce my 'angry' music (Disturbed, Garbage, Linkin Park, etc) very faithfully, while oversaturating softer music in ear-piercing highs. Definitely a good set if you're planning on getting a sub down the road.
