Strength:

One of the best 4x6''s I''ve heard especially for the money. Surprisingly they can reproduce lower frequencies (for a 4x6) quite well when in the door. They respond well to bass boost circuits at low to moderate power as well. In fact at low volumes they compare with 6.5 speakers, but they can''t handle tons of power so the volume is a bit limited. Tweeters were good too, but I cut them off completely because they were so low in the doors. This is probably why one blew, because all the power was going to the woofer.

Weakness:

Low power handling. 60Watts Peak, about 35rms or so I think it was. But then again it''s not really a weakness because you can''t expect anything more from a 4x6 speaker.

Excellent 4x6 speaker for car audio. Surprisingly good frequency response. Since they are so small the power handling is a little low, but you can''t really complain about that. I got them for $100 CDN. which was 5% over cost when I bought them. I had the KFC-HQ465 model which is exactly the same as the newer eXcelon model. Kenwood used to use HQ for their high-end speakers and PS for the high end amps but then they consolidated them to one name. I ended up overpowering one of them and the voice coil burned. But it was my own fault, I put probably over 60rms into them with no low xover. My car was only supposed to accept 4x6''s in the doors, but after blowing these I custom fabed a 6.5" enclosure and put 6.5s in. However I''d definitely recommend these to anyone who has a limitation of 4x6 speakers to install. They FAR better than any factory speaker and they don''t disappoint. I''d recommend a high-pass x-over though, probably at around 100-120Hz or so, especially if powering with an amp.

Pioneer, other Kenwood, Infinity. (I''d recommend these over the Infinity Kappa 4x6 plate with the 4" driver.)

Strength:

Great bass from a 4x6.Excellent highs and great power handling ability.

Weakness:

highs can get a little overpowering depending on the music you listen to.Just have to turn down the treble though and you are set.

I gave it 4 stars just because the only thing i had to compare it to was the stock speakers and any aftermarket speaker is better than them.Don't get me wrong i love the speakers but it's not fair to give them a 5 rating just because they are better than stock speakers. If you need a good power handling speaker this 4x6 is for you.

stock speakers.Can't compare.
