Strength:

Very efficient, very loud, excellent sound.

Weakness:

Distorted bass at high volumes, and distorts at lower volumes with really deep rap bass. In my experience, they blow very easily.

Excellent speaker. With a 93 dB sensitivity, they get very loud really quick without a powerful amplifier. For awhile I had 80 watts rms to each speaker, and the mids and highs were deafening. Now I have about 35 watts to each, and they get plenty loud.

However, these things blow very easily if you''re not careful. I think I drove my amplifier to clipping a few too many times. I''m on my second pair, and I was driving around tonight and my left speaker blew. Luckily, I bought the extended warranty from circuit city (I was actually suckered into buying it, but it worked out pretty well for me). All I do is take them back and they give me a brand new pair.

Alpine 6x9''s...worked fine with the head unit, but when I got my amp, it was too much for these 6x9''s to handle.

Strength:

The sound is really good. Very efficient.

Weakness:

the frigging fried listening to Steely Dan!!! I only have a 52w Head unit! These things are lame!

Buy the JL Audio tr69tr 6x9s!Blew two sets of these Polks using a Sony Cx650CA head unit only! The JLs sound way....way.....better and don''t appear to have fried yet. Seriously, If you buy the Polks get the extended warrantee.

Strength:

Great highs, and mids. Prefect for the rear speakers.

Weakness:

But when you turn them up on bassy songs they tend to distort. They need more power. RMS is 2 70 watts. If you would get an amp with 50-80 watt rms they are prefect.

I got mine on sale for $150. Once you get an amp for 200. You wonder if it was really worth. It was worth because they have great highs and very good bass.

Strength:

Very very very very loud and clear.

Weakness:

Bass isn't too good but don't need it if you have subs.

I heard them at Circuit City and I almost became deaf because of these. I had to step back because I couldn't hear the music anymore. He turned it loud and I heard no sign up unclarity or distortion. These things are loud, I will pick some up soon.

Strength:

very nice speaker. Crystal high's, POWERFULL VOICE, tight solid bass. handles plenty of power and sounds great on a seperate amp.

Weakness:

well, ive had them for a couple of years and i had about 80 watts to them and finally after about a year, i killed them. I pushed those puppies to the max and it handled very well.

i paid about $160 (you know, at circut city) and they were great. i enjoyed them till they finally fried. hehe. i got to be carefull about my watt supply. i pushed those things so hard and they finally fried. but, i have to say there probably the best 6x9's for your dollar. Before i even got an amp for them they sounded very nice just from the head unit. I think there just as good as dx models if not better. Just make sure you have a seperate amp for maximum quality.

Strength:

What do I like about these beautys? EVERYTHING!!! They are so remarkable, they even sound BETTER than the Polk dX 6x9's. The highs are much louder, cleaner, and the bass is better too. I thought that the new dX series would blow these away, well, NOPE! Too bad I have to sell my dX 6x9's. LOL.

Weakness:

Nothing

I paid $159 for these, and that doesn't do these enough justice, they are worth twice that price. And yes I would DEFINITELY recommend them. Totally incredible speakers.

Polk dX 6x9's. Good, but not as good as the cheaper and more powerful Polk EX 6x9's. Don't blow your money on the dX series. Waste of $$$

Strength:

Excellent high's and good mid's. handles a fair amount of power

Weakness:

low frequency base cause's them to distort quickly at high volumes. << If you get these i highly recommend an EQ

I got these for about $170. I am happy with them but their reaction to low frequency's is very poor. But the high's are excellent and they are more than enough for rear speakers. these speakers also are great with an amp too. But they rock with an EQ.

Strength:

Uhhh everything.

Weakness:

Not a whole lot. The supplied cables were kinda small, but who the hell uses those anyways?

I never even knew that Polk made car audio products, or good ones at that, but thanks the reviews of everyone else here, I made the right decision. These speaekers ROCK!
From the deep tight lows to the ultra highs, everything about these speakers just blows my mind. I got these for $150 can. at my local Future Shop, so if you can find these speakers for anything near this price, then grab them... FAST!

Highly recommended for anyone!
