Strength:

Great sound, great bass, and a great price for the quality

Weakness:

cones tend to be a little easy to tear or puncture

Best subs I have used, most people think i have 2 15s instead of 2 10s, would recommend these to anyone willing to spend a little money for great sound.

Strength:

Hitts HARD, clear sound, loudest cuss on the street

Weakness:

none.....yet

This is straight up a beast. I've been pushing it with the new kenwood 1000watt mono amp and omg....on level 10 i hear it from inside the house...damn. I beat the hell outta my friends systems which r 2 polk 10s 2 12 kenwoods, 1 10 mtx, ect. I also got a Q-logic large ported box and i sounds so tight, even tho there is a rumor sayin not 2 use 1. Bottom line IT'S A BEAST

Strength:

Doesn't need a ton of juice but will take it...tight, musical sq bass...lots of bass for its size (doesn't waste space)

Weakness:

none that i have found yet! i'll keep everyone updated if i do

This sub is a beast for a 10 inch...Up against a 500 watt monoblock amp it outpounds the kicker cvr 15 inch i previously had...it takes the same amount of 1000 watts but runs more efficiently off of lower RMS...i heard not to get a ported box but it came in a specially designed rectangular-ported box by alpine with perfect specs and it's a beast...not huge in spl but enough to satisfy many bass lovers

*NO DISTORTION* My Fosgate Punch's distorted on some really low notes, but these dont. Great Bass and they make your instillation look good.

Weakness:

I have yet to find some...

I was cruising the internet and i stumbled upon etronics.com. They had Alpine R-Series 10's for $99.99 each. I had wanted them for a long time, but Crutchfield charged $179.99 each. I bought them, put them in an open box behind the back seat, and wired them to a 1200 watt Boss Ripper Amp. One word *DAMN*... These subs are by far the best i have heard in a long time. Loud, hard hitting, no distortion, and you want to talk about bass. The first song i played, Remember by Disturbed almost took my head off. They get you attention lets just say that.

Weakness:

they dont come with any sub gaskets so i bought some self stick door wheatherstripping to do the job.

Strength:

Nice deep bass without distortion. If you want distortion buy Sony. Very good Alpine looks with silver and red.

Weakness:

None so far

Circuit City was running a deal on the 10' Type R's and I decided to buy two of them for $180. An excellent decision. I am running an entire Alpine system with the CDA-7878 MP3 head unit and MRD-500 amp. Everything has Bass Engine and sounds good. Nice deep bass with no distortion. They are in a custom made sealed box (1.54 cu ft) that fits behind my back seat on a ledge so the sound bounces off my hatch rear window. Have surprised many of my friends. Girls seem to like them to. I wonder why?

None as of yet and don't expect any.

Awesome Subs!!! I am running two of these 10's in a sealed box with 800WRMS to the two of them and they are wickedly loud for their size! The quality is unbelievable, whatever note their hitting they are clear. Best subs I've ever heard.

Great response, very loud, excellent price, unbeatable value. BUT THESE SUBS!

Weakness:

None found

Holy hell. I got a single 10" in my s-10 behind the seat powered by an MTX 500D amp and O MY GOD this thing hits like a dream. I have seen people with 2 crappy 10s or even 12s not put out as much sound as this does. And the quality is outstanding. Im doing a blowthrough and will soon have 4 of these puppies in the bed of the truck. I would recommend these subs to anyone

EXCURSION, even w/ only 400 rms. LOOKS, so sexy, girls are impressed SQ and accuracy they DO get loud

Weakness:

my box is too small for the power i am giving them, .66 cu ft sep. chambers sealed. I need a bigger box (.85 cu. ft) or a bigger amp, like JL 500/1

Running these off of an alpine mrv t757 (400 rms). Whoa, even underpowered these subs are so so clean. They are loud as hell too. They lok amazing. If I had to do it over, I would have gotten a bigger amp, but still sounds REALLY good.

RF 2 10" HE, alpine laughed at them other RF JL w3, cleaner than the JL, but with LOW power seems like the JL's get a BIT louder b/c the type r aren't working their 1 inch surrounds yet.

Strength:

surround seems strong

Weakness:

they just dont compete

My friend blew his Rockford power dvc12" up and thought he liked alpine so he got two type R 10" dual 2ohm subs. The subs are running at one ohm and can't even touch what the rockfords spl factor. The rockford was louder than both alpine 10"s when running at two ohms, and half power. If you want to see your spoiler move 4" your sunroof 3" and your wipers giggle, get a rockford power dvc or two and some serious amplification. I guarantee it will be louder than your brain can deal with!
