Strength:

Great SQ
No distortion
Like small boxes

Weakness:

None

These subs are absolutely amazing. I bought a 12" without hearing it, on a dealer's recommendation. I previously had a PPI Pro 12, and I didn't think I could do any better. I was WRONG!!! These subs put everything else to shame. If you like SQ, they are by far the most accurate, tonally correct subs on the market. If you're a bass-head, a couple will kick some serious air. Of course these subs deserve good power...Rockford, PPI, XTANT, etc.
I tried numerous box sizes between 1 and .75 cu. ft. The best size for extension and kick ended up being .86 cu. ft. driven by a PPI 2400. If you're looking for new subs, look no further. I guarantee you'll be a believer.

Strength:

Looks good I guess

Weakness:

I bought this sub for 220 and I wasted 220. This sub sucks. Everyonethat it looks good and is expensive so theyre like..oh its good its good cuz its expensive and looks good...good sub good sub. thats a bunch of bs.I have this sub hooked up to a coustic amp..im giving it 100 watts in hear that gave this sub 5 stars doesn't know car audio. They just see of clan power in a bandpass box and this thing sounds like the stuff that falls outta my ass. Before I had this sub I had a rockford fosgate xlc and that sounded way better for only a fraction of the price.

I would not reccomend this to anyone that really wants a good sounging sub. If you are going to put your car in a show maybe you should get this because it looks good. If you want a sub that actually sounds good you should get a fosgate or a pioneer.

Strength:

Build quality, sound quality, dynamic range, looks, choice of colors. It just kicks butt! It never distorts.

Weakness:

It never distorts. (I'll explain in the summary)

I paid regular retail price which was 199.99 at the sites I mentioned above. Great deal!!!!!! Although shipping did take a few weeks :(

I ordered two of these subs to go in a 2000 Chevy Trailblazer Powered by a Phoenix Gold XS 2300. I got the DVC 6 Ohm to be wired in paralell to 2.6 Ohms and then stereo into the amp. I had a spare 1 cubic ft box laying around so I put the guy in there just to try him out wired at 2.6 ohms. I am very sad to say that I have waisted my money on the second sub because one of these in the back just blew my ears away! The sub played such loud, clean, pure bass that I did not bother to install the second sub as to just one of these was louder than most pairs of 12"s I've ever heard in my life. Now I could sit here and talk about the incredible engineering that went into this sub, rave about the dynamic range and how tight it hits high and low frequencies, the build quality, the awesome sound, the beauty of the entire speaker, and that it comes in different colors but I will let you be the judge.

Now for the explanation for why the Alchemy not distorting is a weakness. I forgot that I had the sub wired at 2.6 ohms mono into the amp. This means that at high volume the amp is throwing peaks of 800 watts into the sub and about ~600 watts rms. I realized this after showing off my single 12" to a bunch of my friends with 2 12"s that sound like garbage at half the DB. During the whole time the sub never distorting no matter how loud I turned it up and realizing how much power I was dumping into the poor guy I took it out if the enclosure to see if there was any smoke coming out of the vent :) Fortunately there was not but the assembly was hot. I think I came close to blowing the sub and I would have never known until the sub completely failed.

My personal advice
===============
Just go listen to one. Don't listen to us writing these reviews telling you how WE THOUGHT the sub sounded. I dare any of you to listen to any other sub side by side the Alumapro line and I will bet the Alumapro will come out on top every time!

One last note . To anyone here. Ehh... Especially below my review. If you were not happy with the sub and expected to get more for the money you paid. I would recommend that you do not use the cars factory deck power to power this sub. Factory decks do not have enough power to power an Alumapro Alchemy 12" DVC. Additionally please put the sub in an enclosure then proceed to use an external mid to high quality amp. Otherwise revert to your old setup consisting of Jensen 6" in a 3rd order bandpass enclosure to yield best results:) Thanks, have a good day.

By the way who do I talk to to get more than 5 stars in here for the Alumapro Alchemy?

Strength:

great power handling, lethal low bass response,WILL NOT distort, doesn't sound like a sub it sounds like someone beating a bass drum in my trunk

Weakness:

if there's something you don't like about this sub your a boob

I bought this sub strictly on word of mouth and was a little nervous kicking out $450 for a pair of subs i had never heard in a car. When i asked the salesman what he thought of them he said "best things on the market." I was skeptical. I have now used them for right about a month. My reaction? "best thing on the market." I dropped them in a sealed box with 1 cubic ft. per side, and ran an MTX 2300x at them bridged to 4 ohm mono. The result was sonic ecstacy. These baby's are the Bo Jackson of subs, they do it all. Low end is not only deep but resound with energy that socks you right in the gut. Kicks are accurate and like i said earlier actually sound like someone playing the drums in your trunk. If you are in the market for new subs you HAVE to check these out.If you don't it would be the equivelant of wanting (and being able to afford,of course)the most beautiful exotic sports car you could find and not checking out Ferrari's....THEY'RE THAT GOOD,FIVE STARS NOT ENOUGH!!!!!!

Strength:

It is THE SUB!!!! Don't even listen to anything else. Have a listen, then buy nothing else...

Weakness:

The metal cones can be very delicate to the touch when in use, but why would you play around with the sub, listen to it silly!!!

Practically the most powerful sub avail. for it's price range. I am a retailer in NW Indiana and carry this line of subwoofers. These subs are taking our customers to IASCA finals this year for SPL and SQ categories. You will recieve bass in your face if you want that, or the most precise low end response in a SQ setup, like I run. There is no distortion what-so-ever except for a weak ampilier producing it. Preferable a ZAPCO digital, or ZAPCO AG series amplifer would be recommended. A single 12 Alchemy in the proper .88cu foot enclosure can produce and exceed 135 decibles by itself with a minimal amount of power like 175 watts continuous. Let's see is other manufactures can do that, esp. with a 2-year warrantee..... I think not...

Strength:

Don't distorte. Havent Blown in a week. Loud as hell. Not that much power needded for them.

Weakness:

Not well known.

I hope to hit a 148db or higher since 2 12' Earthquake Magma's are supposed to do 148db. The Alchemy's out hit the Magma's in test labs by 1db with all the same amp equipment and music (Paula Cole) @50hz. I have 1 Memphis 1000D amp bridged @2ohm's and a 24db Cross-over. So I have the required wattage (600watts) going to each of them.

Strength:

Sound Quality deep low clean bass, power handling, looks
Aluminum Cone Woofers

Weakness:

cost, not to many dealers

I have 2 Alumapro Alchemy 12 DVC's and I could not be more pleased with their performance. From a SQ standpoint it is as tight and as musical than any sub i've heard. It can take 300 watts rms and is loud hitting 137.7 off a 180x2 ppi amp. I couldn't be happier. Find a dealer, a-b it with some Fosgate woofer and hear the difference for yourself. If you want great sounding bass you owe it to yourself to try this sub
