Strength:

supe solid build, fantastic bass response, very efficient, can run underpowered very loud, sounds great in sealed and ported box.

Weakness:

none so far...

i bought these subs about 6months ago and i am still as impressed as i was on day one, i have friends with 3000watt pioneers, alpine type r, and inphase enclosed subwoofers, and all of them are so much more overpriced but my audiobahns are still in competition with them. they are so loud and clear and run very smoothly even when overpowered. wiring can be confusing as it has quad lug voice coils so i recommend getting a professional to wire them up for you. the subs are very good looking aswell and pick up all bass very clearly. it sounds loud even in my bmw 3 series with the metal around the boot. the pressure these subwoofers create is unblievable so if you use them with a sealed box make sure the box is very sturdy and sealed very well. but they sound a lot louder in a slot ported box. BUY THEM! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Let me tell ya something. i have the 1005 right now an it sounds kick ass. im gettin the 1205 to put in my new srt-4 by the end of december. i would not buy the 12 if the ten sucked so that says somthing right there. everyone that hates audiobahn really dont know where its at. so u go ahead an listen to the sh!ty things that u have. im not going to name any names that has sucky subs. i would not buy another company to say that much. i wouldnt run them even for free. Audiobahn has the best subs out there. if u have audiobahns an they sound like crap u have something wrong. ill up date when i have the 12 broken in an tell u how it sounds. later

Plays really freakin loud if you don't tear it to pieces. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I've been building and tweaking systems for a long enough time to know that it probably was not user error. Has a fat sound in a ported box, so if you listen to boomy bass, this sub should work wonderfully.... Also, in a ported box, you only need somewhere in the 600-800 watts to get most or all out of this sub. I will, however, recommend the A1300HC amp I'm using.... tons of power output- great for a competition sub or multiple subs- truly works well with a 1 ohm load.

Weakness:

Build quality. It just isn't cool when your subs fall apart. Sounds muddy w/ fast bass (like a metal band's double kick drum beat). Very poor w/ upper bass frequencies (not too big of a deal, but worth mentioning). I hate to say this because I was so stoked about getting these subs, but Audiobahn's customer service was about the worst I've ever experienced.

I bought 2 of these subs about 4 years ago, and have been sadly dissappointed in Audiobahn's product. I don't know if it's bad luck or not, but I know I'll never buy anything else Audiobahn. I followed all instructions for sealed box use. I was running only one sub at a time off of an Audiobahn A1300HC amp (1200 watts into the 1 ohm load I was driving). Well, the first sub's glue gave out where the spider is held to the motor structure. So, I swapped it w/ the next one. A few weeks of play, and same problem.... simple use of epoxy had them both in working order again, though. BUT, after reinstalling the first sub and playing it for a couple of months, the spider tore right where it meets the cone. This completely severed the tinsel leads and no electrical signal got to the voice coils. Not good. All along, I had been emailing Audiobahn, asking for any advice and or help- none came. Finally I decided to try a ported box before reinstalling the second woofer. This worked and is still working to this day. However, I really don't like the way ported boxes sound, and therefore am extremely dissappointed with this product.

2 JBL GTO 12's off of a 600 watt Kenwood amp sounded better in the same car I'm using the Audiobahn stuff in. Also cost about 1/2 of the bahn gear. Ran off lower amperage, played lower, took up less space.

Extremely loud even underpowered, high power handling, long excursion capability ,price, price, price, tinsel leads woven into spider it goes on...

Weakness:

sound quality I guess if thats your thing I personally don't think they sound bad

I wouldn't sell my Audiobahn's 4 nuthin'! I had them 4 about a year and a half on a mmats 200h.c. 1200rms under- rated at 12.5volts and their still stiff almost like I just took them out of the box granted they can handle up to 4000rms all 4 of them combined. but i'm still hittin' 152.4db underpowered and their barely movin'.I've had woofers from JL,Fosgate,Mtx,Kicker,Eclipse and for the price audiobahn is a way better sub even if it did cost the same I still say their louder mabye SQ is an issue but I'm all about make your vision blurry..

Strength:

Very high power handing, 24 stran silver lead wire woven into the spyder, huge excursion, very dependable, if you can blow a audiobahn sub you gotta hell of a amp , i have pounded the living crap outa two of the 12''s for over 1 1/2 years, no sign of giving up, they are just now breaking in and i got the big Lanzar opti 1000D on dem hoes

Weakness:

Sound quality isent top notch but hey im not much of a sound quality guy myself and i speak for alot of guys out there when i say id rather have my nose itch and dash hop a full 3 inches than be like everyone else with JL,Kicker,Cadence and that pile of monkey doo that call MTX.

These Audiobahn subs or for that matter any of the Audiobahn subs in this series or better wil make mince meat outa the Cadence db drag Solo beast, kicker''s solo baric or JL''s peice of crap W6 or just about any sub you can think of, now JL''s w7 is a decent woofer but hey put beside Audiobahns linear compression 12 and its clearly a peice of monkey doo. I wont even bring up MTX, those guys really suck, they wont stand behind their product, another good thing bout Audiobahn

Strength:

They handle massive amounts of power but do not necessarily require it because of their high efficiency. A 180 oz. double stacked magnet. Fat suround allows for longer excursion lengths (in turn harder bass). Cone is coated with KPM3 kevlar which practiclly eliminates cone distortion (excellent sound quality). DVC dual voice coil creates more connection versatillity. Does not require a large volume sealed box Handels tones below 20hz (average humman hears 20hz-20,000hz) but not too far below (this drains the amp) I would suggest these over all in its clas

Weakness:

large mounting depth to compensate for magnet size.

Taking into consideration the compromising acoustics of a single cab, full size truck, the subs are excellent. I have two in seperate .879 cubic inch, sealed boxes. powered by a audiobahn A18001D class amp running at 2 ohms, which only delivers 600 watts max to each of the 1000 watt nominal subs. But considering they have an efficiency level of 92.8 db which is beyond suficient. This also could explain why I just had to replace my windshield to get an inspection sticker.

Awesome power, I cant be positive on the sound quality because it blew up my old box. Im still waiting on the new one.

Weakness:

Make sure your box is extremely solid, especially if its sealed.

Im blown away by the amount of power these These things can push. I have 2 set in a custom box. The guys that built it underestimated how much presure these things make and they were forced to build me a new box cuz it blew the seals out on the old one. Most people I talk to are amazed that a single 12" woofer can take 1000 watts. The life time warranty doesn''t hurt either.
