Strength:

Super low frequency response. No other speaker can match it.

Weakness:

Have shattered my back window three times. They have too much bass for anyone to handle for any period of time. Not clear with fast hitting rock.

I thought by heart stopped. It is a bass so low that you feel it more than you hear it.

Strength:

deep bass, hits hard, thumps pretty good, moves lots of air, loud.
can do 20hz @120dB

Weakness:

verry boomey , distorted bass, size , takes up alot of space, you could get two 15" subs that would put out better bass.

its a waste of money the thing does put out alot of deep low bass but it's not verry clean tight bass. although i found it great for thumping bass while listing to some gansta rap and it shooke the ground pretty good and hits verry verry hard but the bass was distoreted so i took it back and got two JL audio 15" subs for the same price and they thump way better.

Strength:

Ok, i've read the other reviews and all of them speak the truth. This product is not for someone with a small car (or budget). I'm lucky in the way that i have a relatively large car, so I can fit more than just this speaker in for my bass - midrange response. It delivers ground shaking bass, the likes of which I've never heard (or felt!)(save the Rockford Punch 18" sub in my friends car, which still doesn't match it).

Weakness:

Not to be used on its own. I have this speaker, two 15" SRM3804's and two 8" SRM2004s to provide my bass and mid response. If you're looking for a good all-round sub, the Clarion SRM3804 (15") does quite a good job. Another BIG weakness is the sheer size of the amp required to run it. I am running a Kenwood 2000w x 1 amp for THIS SUB alone!!! For most people, spending almost A$5000 on an amp is just ludicrous. Clarion obviously didn't design this sub with a low-mid range user class in mind. Not forgetting of course, the MASSIVE box size required! (almost 8cu.ft for any decent ported low response)

I'll be honest. My car is a show / competition car which pulls 153dB. This sub has greatly improved my low frequency scores. For everyone else, this sub is a huge waste of money, not to mention effort (as carrying the bloody thing is a chore in itself) I paid over A$4000 for the sub, nearly A$5000 for the amp to run IT, and for the money, i now wish I'd bought a few more 15"s and a few more amps! But hey, you don't find these things out until you've tried them! :-) Back to the drawing board Clarion!

Strength:

it hits pretty hard but it's no where near worth the price of $1800 each read all that crap above what other people sent in and they probably haven't even heard them..well i have..no doubt this sucker is huge but its all hype

Weakness:

3 12" subs sound way better, ive heard this speaker and a sound off last year and it was spottin' a 2000x1 amp and it still wasn't that loud i dont care what other people think iam just givin u the facts..but dont get me wrong it thumps but its not worth the money you would have to at least pay $4000 just for the amp and sub not including the enclosure power cables and other crap

$1800, no i would not recomend this sub go out and buy something else cause you dont waste your hard earn cash on this piece of crap

Strength:

Super subsonic bass, you will find nerves in your body that that can feel bass like you wouldn't believe.

Weakness:

Required cabinet size limits placement in only large vehicles and buildings (would look cute in a subcompact), cost (local dealer wanted a high price), must be cut low or it shows lag (should be cut no higher than 30-35 hz, this is a lot of cone to move). I bet it's not neighbor friendly.

I would love to integrate this into a HT environment as this is the most subsonic sub I ever felt (didn't hear it, experienced it by feel). I went to my local Nht dealer who is also the local Clarion/Denon car audio dealer and decided to sit in on an audition that another customer was doing. At first sight I just thought this sub was just a giant display until this guy played the star trek cd's explosion of Praxas track. I have heard this played on the above mentioned subs but none moved the air that this cone did, it was just flat out awesome! It was unbelieveable what this did to organs, explosions (canons), and any synthesizer hits into the super sub lows. The dealer said the sub was crossed to about 27hz to mate up to the two 15" and then 45hz to the four 8" (an all Clarion setup). I tell you if they played the canon sounds from the Enya track before I walked in the store I would've of sworn that someone was robbing the place as it was this forceful. This is a very specialized piece of gear that the dealer said should not be crossed any higher than 35hz though he said he personally wouldn't go any higher than 30hz since that is when the lag becomes present. I use that one time listening experience as a "reference point" for low bass and this sub should only be used to hit bottom half octave only or lower. If you have the room, power, and most of all money and want bass lower than some natural and not so natural phenomenons then this should be incorporated into your system, but don't expect this to be the only sub in the system, it can't do it as it can't really do mid-bass loudly.

Since I listen to mostly 12" car subs and HT subs, I will relate it to the HT subs I've heard, Velodyne FSRs 18/15, Paradigm Servo 15, Def Tech 15/18, Sound Dynamics 15", and a friend's home built 2 15" JBLs with 4 8" Alpine home setup.

Strength:

Well obviously it does hit. Large size = intimidation. Fancy car show speaker.

Weakness:

Large Size = Too much to carry around. The price is outrageous. Did i mention looks can be decieving. Not as good as it looks.

Friend who owns a shop had one to try out. It hits, but didnt hit like it should. Basically overrated. Clarion does not make good speakers, stick to Audio Bahn, or rocker kicker.

Audiobahn 12" Kompressors can whoop this s**t =D. for 5000 u can get a complete system or a few 12"s and amps. Little waist it for 1 speaker.
