Model Reviewed: jl 10w3 6ohm

Strength:

Slams. Can't hardly blow em. Fits insmall places. Great for comps.

Weakness:

can only run in 1 or 3 sub ampications for max power. Can hit lows well but by no means a 18. Hard to find.

I had 3 JL 10w3's on a bd1000 rockford fosgate amp. In a 85 cheverolet truck. they slammed. They are loudest BASS sub u can get for the money. The system hit at 150.8 db. I would recommend them to anyone who likesloud hard hitting bass. Great for competitions.

Strength:

Can handle alot more power than rated can handle abuse

Weakness:

terrible SQ Worst accuracy I've ever heard very very inefficient do not hit low sealed at all expensive for what they are clutter on detailed music can not handle rock music AT ALL

JL only made 1 terrible sub since they have been in the market and that is the 10w3's. Actually all the w3's. But I have not heard the new V2's yet. I had 3 of them for over a year in sealed enclosures. I used JL, Memphis, and Orion amps on this thing. Used 1, .80, and .7 cubic ft chambers on all of them at different times. I've used Diamond, MB Quart, and JL component speakers up front with very clean mid/highs amps. And no matter what the sub did not play accurately, and the SQ was dogcrap!!!!!. I have never heard a sub with such terrible peaks in response. It cannot play detailed bass guitar lines, or difficult synthesized bass lines. They are okay for rap SQ, but do not get low enough for most people. They do take alot of power, but who cares they sound like crap. If you listen to alot of rock music stay away from these subs, you will go nuts trying to EQ the terrible response of this sub. No matter what you do you will not be able to get this sub to transition well with your mids/highs, and they are very slow. Their impact is not up to par with todays speakers.
