Strength:

Value (price/performance) Excellent sound quality Well built

Weakness:

Not the coolest looking sub (who cares) Not an SPL monster (not a single one)

I use two 12W0's in a sealed enclosure and I love them. I have used many automotive subs over the years and frankly I just don't think you can beat the value of the 12W0's. I have used a single Soundstream SPL160 (15" sub) and a pair of Soundstream SPL12's (12" subs) in the past and the JL blows them away. If you have the room in your car, a pair of 12W0's will surpass ANY single 12" sub and most 15" subs costing many, many times the price (compared to about $200 for a pair of 12W0's). And I am talking both sound quality AND SPL. This is a dirty little, well kept secret in car audio circles designed to make consumers spend mega$$$$ on the high-end, flagship models. Don't fall for it! True, if you drive a porsche, go out and buy JL's 12W7. But if you have the space, you cannot go wrong with this speaker.

sq low hitting bass

Weakness:

power handling

i think the jl w0 12s are all under rated. i have 2 12 w0s run with 2 kicker comps with just a 1200watt amp. when i added the jls, my sq became amazing, and the jls are one of the lowest hitting subs i have ever heard, they do hit lower than the kicker comps. For the money they are probably one of the best subs you can buy, especially if you want great sq.I will probably end up selling my kickers for 2 more jl 12w0s.

Strength:

Good sub for the money. Good SQ. Underrated power handling.

Weakness:

Low extension doesn't compare to the w6. Sounded more boomy in a ported box, I'd seal these if you're willing to lose some db's.

Ran these off an MTX2160 (325wrms x 1) for a few months. Had these in a kinda cheezy prefabbed ported box tunned around 35hz. I've heard the w1's and personally I don't think these are better even with the new technology implemented. the w0's sounded better however but less output. Anyway, I drove these subs with that 325 watt amp pretty hard. Had no problems until I blew one of the subs from clipping the amp. Did the same with a pair of MTX 12's rated at 500watts and these lasted longer. Power handling is more around 200 watts as long as you don't clip the amp.

Strength:

Never have distorted. Perform extremely well at high demands for the price.

Weakness:

If you are running a 500 watt amp, you will most likely be happier with a W3 series sub.

I just picked up 2 JL 12's WO series and for the price, I am extremely impressed. I listen to a lot of trance music and they perform extremely well at high demands. I am very particular about bass and these subs sound absolutely amazing! I am using a custom powerwedge enclosure made for these subs by JL Audio. Nice.

NOT COMPETITION LEVEL~! Out grew these in a week, upgraded to 2 12 W3s d-4! Ordering a 800 watt autotek amp soon :)

Not bad at all for the price! Nice SQ, didnt expect much from these subs for the price, had them hooked up parallel to a ghetto ass budget Crunch 2250 amp that claimed to push out 250x2 @4ohms, even with a false amp like this, it sounded very nice and clean, for the money i dotn think you can beat these! highly recomend for someone whos lookin for clean simple bass, not for those who are lookin to be heard outside and beyond

Strength:

all around good sub excellent value

Weakness:

i've heard tighter bass but from more expensive subs but they're still louder

These subs are very good for beginners, in fact, i think they are the best subs you can get for the price. They will impress you when you power them with a low wattage amp so they may save you a lot of money when it comes to buying an amp for your W0's, just make sure to get a good quality amp. I am feeding my 2 12" W0's with the JL 250/1 amp and it sounds amazing. Great SPL and decent SQ. Great for rap music and clean sounding rock music. It can hit rather low compared to the competition and will rattle your balls on the higher frequencies. If you were thinking about purchasing these subs and want advice from a someone who isnt selling them and has heard many other subs in its class then take my advice and give the W0's a shot.

Strength:

cheap, it''s pretty hard.

Weakness:

Blew 2x but the amp I was using sucked.

I had these subs for 4 years. I''ve blown them twice. I got them professional installed. But I honestly believe that I choose a bad amp not the subs. I have a Orion colbalt 265xp (don''t ever by ORion).SO now I''m going with 2 12" JL w3''s with a JL 500/1 amp. These subs aren''t bad for 100 a piece. I would get em if your just starting on your system and don''t have much $.
