Strength:

Nice sounding 8 inch sub, the best i have ever heard. Good solid lows does not fizzle out with more power, and good mids. Strong all around sound!

Weakness:

None found yet

I just recently had a costom box built for behind the seats of my 94 S-10. Built for three 8w6's 1.25 ft. They sound better than any other subs i have ever heard in a truck. I am running 4 gauge power and ground wires to my Memphis ST500d amp with a Kenwood EX. head unit. These subs rock.

Model Reviewed: 1997 Eclipse GSX

Strength:

They look really nice. The magnet is huge! The price was pretty low. The 8" W6 sound better than any 10" of other brands.

Weakness:

They must be wired single or triple. Doesnt work in a double set up. Also, specific wiring is needed.

I have it in my '97 Eclipse GSX. They dont need a big box which is really nice. I made a custom box, and they took up very little room in my trunk. I would definatly get these subs again. The only down side is that you cant wire up two W6s. But why have two when you can have three? :)

Strength:

Extension, sound quality

Weakness:

Modest output in appropriate enclosure volume

I installed a single 8W6 in a 1/2 cubic foot sealed enclosure in my dad's Miata. It's powered off the rear channels of a Jensen amp getting about 150 watts and 100Hz down. The sound quality is great and it plays deep for an eight, like down into the upper 20's. The only downside is it runs out of steam easily playing pop or rap music. Considering it's a single 8" woofer it's hard to really complain about this. This sub really transforms in a 1/2 cube box, don't short it or you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for an eight or two it's tough to beat the 8W6.

Strength:

compact size, awesome bass.

Weakness:

nothing yet.

Jl Audio subs are without a doubt the best sub on the market. Especially the w6. I have a triple 8 box in the back of a 1988 Saab 900 turbo and they slam. I have competed twice and won both times. I have heard a lot of other subs but nothing beats a Jl.

Strength:

This speaker hits hard for an 8" Sub.

Weakness:

haven't found one yet

I have one 8" w6 in my 2000 Tundra behind the center console in a custom box that has the speaker firing down. With about 1/2 cubic ft of air space in the box it sounds awesome for all types of music. If you like music spend the extra money and you will not be dissapoionted. I am planning to add another 8" w6 soon. any suggestion on mounting please e-mail me at echua@mindsping.com
