Weakness:

No Weakness

I paid 148.00 for a pair and that is not bad. They just hit hard for the price!!

Strength:

strong bass, loud, looks

Weakness:

none

I am running 2 of these subs and I think they are great. After 2 weeks of break-in time any distortion went away. I have had no sound problems with this sub like others report. I am running them off an MTXThunder D class amp in a simple Q-logic box, but these things can crank. The only subs I would replace them with would be Solobaric L7's or Eclipse.

Strength:

very powerful, full bass, especially in my huge honkin' box.

Weakness:

Small amounts of distortion at higher levels

I upgraded from an older model Orion XTR and was very impressed. I have one in a 7.0 cft box of a 91 Grand Am and they blow away all my friends. I am powering it with a Kenwood KAC-X401M @ 12V @ 4 Ohms--a total of only 200 watts, but is still almost overpowering for normal cruising. I'm merely an amateur, but one of my competitor friends was impressed with the sound...I guess that says something for a system with all the same brand components(I have a KDC-X915 deck). Definitely recommended for someone without tons of cash, too.

Much, much better than my previous Orion XTR in my opinion.

Strength:

- Efficient with bass. You don't need to crank it up to hear these subs. I actually set the bass on my receiver all the way down, and they still pound.
- They're also really clean when you have them in the right box, no sloppy bass.
- They handle their frequency range really well. Some subs reproduce low frequencies, but at a lower volume level. These reproduce low and high bass equally.
- They look cool too.

Weakness:

They rumble a little bit at really low frequencies. That's really all I can think of.

I started off with only one, a 12", and I put it in a sealed 1.25cft box stuffed with polyfill. After I got my amp input level and my receiver tweaked properly for the sub, it kicked mad behind. The single 12" hit louder than 2 decent 10's one of friends had. After about 2 months, I got another 12", and they sounded great. You could feel the bass standing outside of the car. This posed some vibration problems, but I fixed everything up with foam and padding.

I'd recommend these to people driving SUV's or trucks. You don't want to have a unstable body, trunk, etc. because they WILL rattle. Also, I've found that they sound better in larger areas, like cargo spaces.
